A great way to start the new year. Alabama gets dominated in football.
Huh? If you’re talking about he LVs win at home vs. Florida, where they shot 39% from the floor and 5-25 from 3 pt land than you and everyone else I KNOW clearly have different opinions about ā€œgreat startsā€ā€¦I am predicting 9-7 or 8-8 in SEC play and 8th or 9th seed. And yes, it will be GLORIOUS FOR ME watching an absolute beat down in Hartford on Feb 1…

Michigan getting clobbered by unranked Washington right now

Big West fans got their money's worth in the Fullerton Santa Barbara game that went right down to the wire. Fullerton is turning over opponents 29 times a game to lead the nation according to the announcers. Wow.

Super impressed with Fullerton's defense although they only turned the Gauchos over 27 times.

The Titans had 31 more shots than the Gauchos.

31

So even though Santa Barbara hit 11 threes I think it's going to be tough to beat anybody when you turn the ball over that many times.

@nwhoopfan every time someone makes a post about a "certain" game. šŸ˜‰

I think she’s partially overstating to send a message to her players. And it’s good for them that she’s aware of problems (unlike the glorious Holly Warlick days when she oblivious and always thought they were about to turn the corner).
But at the same time, the level of dysfunction seems …. Not good.

Haha that quote describes Barker's approach to a T. My only question is: did she not watch film before recruiting her? Barker was the exact same way at UCLA. I feel kind of bad for Kim because her system would work better with talent that would play within it but also kind of confused by her approach because she has more talent than her system could ever capitalize on.

Okay, NOW we can talk about it. Washington tried really really hard to give the game away in Q4. 18 point lead dwindled down to 5. A ton of TOs, at least 3 shot clock violations in the quarter, bad passes. The overall result is good but that 4th quarter is extremely alarming.

Howell with a monster game 22 pts/16 rebounds. Sellers was pretty much sleepwalking until late in Q4 but still ended up w/ 11. Nobody else in double figures.

Michigan got a split, but didn't play well on this road trip. What's up with them?

Bad 4th quarter but a fantastic win for Washington. They seem to be headed in a great direction this year. 12 point win over the #6 team in the country is monumental.

Michigan is still pretty young and maintaining consistency at a high level is difficult. I wouldn't be shocked if they have a bit of a let down and lose several conference games. The makeup of this team kind of reminds me of Iowa during Caitlin Clark's sophomore year where they were pretty good but young, and sometimes rose to the challenge thrived and others they struggled and flopped.

To begin with, this is a very different Syla Swords than the person who played against UCONN...
At the least, why was she not bombing away in the 4th; it was the only way that Michigan could fully have a chance to come back?

I'd counter that both Oregon and Washington are better than what most expected at the start of the season. They're part of the middle of the pack of this conference of which, none of these teams can be taken lightly.

I was impressed with how Oregon has played so far this season. They seem to move the ball a lot better compared to last season. Washington maintained a good roster and added Howell and Grabovskaia through the portal. They both have fit in well with this team and it's showing up on the court.

To be honest. I think several teams are showing some holiday rust.

Another idea. I think teams like Michigan could get worn down in conference play.

We'll see. This is Washington's first decent win this year (I'm not counting Utah, I just don't believe in them). They had leads well into the game against USC and Stanford but it slipped away. They had a bad habit of doing that last year too. They're gonna need to win some more big games to inspire more confidence from me.

I inch of snow is supposed to cancel work days
My kid got 24ā€ in their last storm. Didn’t phase them!

But then again, she’s in Syracuse which has an annual contest with Buffalo, Albany & Rochester for bragging rights for which city endures the most snow each winter. Syracuse is currently in first place!

I was referring to the football game. As far as the Tennessee win over Florida. It was a good win. Zee Spearman had a double double. Tennessee dominated the rebounding in this game. I thought today was a positive step in the right direction. Next is at Auburn on Sunday. As for February 1 we have a few games before then.

Kentucky/LSU tied at 75, great game with 2 min left

can't believe UK just conceded that switch with no screen set to end up with Strack on Williams, there was zero reason to switch there. of course it leads to Strack fouling Williams on a 3 because she had no business being on that island out there

Wow, UK looked like they had nothing going and Morgan pulls up for 3 for the win
