The second group of Catholics (Midwest version) come to Durham Sunday in an attempt to quell the uprising.

W Illinois and UT Martin going to OT after W Illinois hits 2 threes in the final minute to tie! Wow, what poise and what a meltdown by Martin. All the momentum is with W Illinois. The old Dandy Don, turn out the lights, the party's over . . . .

edit: nope the party continues on to 2OT tied at 74.

Soooo the Skyhawks even their record at 6-6 with the double OT win over W Illinois!!!!!!!!!

NC State put on a defensive masterpiece in the second half and ran away from Stanford, 74-46, for its 5th consecutive win. The Wolfpack Women had 4 players in double figures, and outscored the Cardinal, 42-20, in the second half.

NC State (10-4, 3-0 ACC) hosts Cal Sunday. Stanford visits Courtney Banghart's cavernous gym in Chapel Hill.

Georgia So in a dogfight against Old Dominion tied at 83 in second OT with a minute remaining.

edit: Georgia Southern misses the second of two FT with 4 seconds left and Old Dominion wins 87-84 to even their conference record at 1-1 as Southern drops to 1-1 in conference play. WILD game.

Watching the Cal Baptist UT Arlington game and the announcers mentioned this little tidbit. Three sisters the Reynolds play for UT Arlington and their dad is an assistant coach there. They moved from Indiana where Dad was a head coach for 11 years at a local high school. Last year the oldest girl was on the Purdue roster.

Very interesting ...

Meanwhile in game action as the third quarter winds down the Lancers lead by 6.

Michigan locked in another dog fight, down 31-18 at Washington at the half. Yes, 18. Avery Howell having her way.

I think she’s partially overstating to send a message to her players. And it’s good for them that she’s aware of problems (unlike the glorious Holly Warlick days when she oblivious and always thought they were about to turn the corner).
But at the same time, the level of dysfunction seems …. Not good.

Not disagreeing but at some point she needs to look at herself. Her coaching style is very chaotic to me.

There was a discussion somewhere recently about most improved players in the country. I think Oregon soph Katie Fiso needs to be added to the discussion. Fr. year averaged 3 points on fairly low shooting numbers. As a soph up to 15 points shooting 50% and also 7+ assists. That's a big jump!
