Ok, alright, now I see how it is around these parts. Duke loses to so and so... and plenty of comments and even threads are created. But when they put belts to a**'s of a respected Mid Major........ its as silent as Donut World at 9:36pm

Anyway... Duke dog walked South Dakota State last night 97-54.

Holding grudges for that long isn't healthy. That was 2008.... and Zaga was a #7 seed.. and they werent expected to make a run that year.

I sort of anticipate Duke and State both to rise up over the course of the conference season and battle it out for the ACC regular season. Personally I think UNC being ranked at this point is kinda a joke. Their big win this year is...Fairfield? Ok. Fairfield lost to Howard. I mean I don't want to disrespect the Stags, but that win doesn't really move the needle for me. UNC has had 3 games against quality competition this year and twice got the doors blown off them and the other time lost at home by 10. I just don't see it with them, I think they are a good team but they lack true difference makers IMO. Perhaps UL can contend, I haven't watched enough of them to have a strong opinion. ND I think is super dangerous because any given game HH can win a game by herself. But there isn't much of a supporting cast and I don't think they will be a consistent team throughout the course of the conference schedule.

Duke and State seem to rebounding from sluggish starts and beginning to play closer to their potential. State looks like a different team to me lately, Zam at PG is blossoming right now, hopefully it continues.

I think the Sun Devils will encounter their first loss either Sunday at home against Colorado or the 31st against Utah.

If the Devils are in fact 17-0 on the 11th against TCU then Molly Miller should be the consensus coach of the year
 
Wazzu lost to Penn to drop to 1-12. How fast can Coach Ethridge go from the best thing to happen to the program to the hot seat?

Also, how long will Eleanora Villa put up with this before she decides she wants to play for a competitive team? She's a Jr., but we've seen mid season transfers before, and in this new era, some of them have gotten instant eligibility at their new school.

And it's out of the frying pan and into the fire for the Jacks -- they're hosting Texas on Sunday. I assume it's a home-and-home, still kudos to Texas for making the trip to Brookings, and to both teams for scheduling this.

And they haven’t even played UConn or Fairfield!
With losses to Holy Cross, UMass, Bryant, quinnipiac, northeastern , Harvard, providence

At the half, BE Preseason #3 Seton Hall is trailing #4 Villanova, 35-25. Nova's Ryanne Allen is 5 of 6 from 3 off the bench.
Harry Perretta is doing the ESPN+ analysis. Interesting.

You didn't need my help. UW collapsed in Q4 all on their own.

Still not sold on Coach Langley. Better than Coach Wynn, but it would've been virtually impossible to do worse.
 
Oregon State 53 - MSU 51

Beavs miss 11 of 22 Free Throws to make it close.

First game of the Maui classic was a thriller as the Beavers hold on to beat Montana State. MSU has a great defense and played really well.

I will admit I was rooting for the Beavers the whole way for obvious reasons.

I listened to the Oregon State broadcast and as the game came to a conclusion they indicated there's a senior cheerleading squad at Oregon State for people over the age of 50. Wonder how large that population is in Corvallis?

Duke went up there last year, and it was a tremendous atmosphere with very good attendance. I expect the same on Sunday, even though its gonna get ugly quick.

I will say… if they don’t score off turnovers they have a lot of trouble scoring. CKC said she wanted the team to average 100 per game. She needs to work on their half court offense.
