Here are the numbers, in 20 minutes per game, 2.3 pts per game, 26% shooting, 12% 3 pt shooting, 0% foul shooting (0-2), 14 assts, 9 turnovers.
So far, a total liability when he is out there.
I bet the opposing coaches would disagree with that. He is a menace to whatever the other team is trying to do. He’s also had a lot of steals and blocks (some which he hasn’t been given credit for. I’ve noticed a lot of stats seem to be missed this year so far )

The chemistry is off when he is on the floor too. He doesn’t seem to know his role.

Look at the handoff to Newton in the trap.
That was terrible Danny needed to park him for that. He would have parked most anyone for that.

If you think he’s been a liability on the court I don’t think you have any idea what you’re looking at.
Down 1 with 10 seconds left, who would you rather have the ball in their hands, Newton or AJ?

Overall he may not be a liability, but in critical possessions he certainly makes me nervous.

Thanks but that has absolutely nothing to do with what I was responding to. I’d rather have it in Newtons hands than Sanogo’s, Karabans, Calcaterras, etc too

Oh, I was just eluding to a few of the times last night he felt like a total liability with the ball. But that must of been me being nervous cause I had a bunch of money on the line. But felt calm as a baby when Newton, karaban, and Calcaterra had the ball.

That no one has fixed his shot in the last 6-8 yeats is criminal. A total liability, no way. He can break the press, rebound like crazy, and can play D in the open court. I still think he starts defending hard too high up and gets beaten off the dribble too many times, however, this has to be what the staff is asking of him.

Everyone wants him to dunk, which would be great, but defenders play off him, because of his shot mechanics which make it easier to defend. He would be crazy good if he had a pull-up, or a stepback, but he doesn’t. Most of his turns are because seems to look for the great pass too many times. Despite yesterday, he is a good FT shooter with that stroke.

Just my 2 cents. I love the guy, but his talent is being wasted.

I admit it, I was wrong. His shooting reminds me a lot of ...Jerry West.

He finished with a contested layup and then scored on a rebound and put-back after a layup attempt. That's progress.
Problem is he did that in a game when he also increased he 3pt attempts.

True on the 2 close-in shots.

And factually true regarding his 0-4 from 3.

But in my mind's eye, I picture at least one bad-looking 3 attempt by Sanogo, Alleyne, Hawkins, Newton, and Karaban. Plus, I'd swear I saw the same from Diarra and Clingan as well, even with the box score showing neither with an attempt.

In a very high stakes, high profile game, there was an unprecedented green light vibe on shooting from deep last night. It somehow felt more intentional than reckless, even if it bothered me that the lead wasn't being protected or could be squandered. With so much on the line, we continued to see early season working-out of lineups and scenarios...and 28 points put up from the 8-minute mark when lock down & closeout have been the biggest needs in the prior Hurley years.

I have to say that it worked out quite well against Alabama.

Total speculation, but I feel like he gets hard on himself because a lot of the fans insist he is this elite scoring point forward. He's not, nor does he need to be. He needs to be a solid contributing defensive specialist. Ricky moore won a national championships on that.

Keep selling your Andre shares for cheap because I’m buying.

The only player putting more time in the gym than Sonogo is Andre. That was until his injury.

Still working at getting his game legs and skills back. His overall play was a bonus given the short runway he had before this game. We lose if his defense, ball handling and rebounding weren’t available. Definitely ahead of where I thought he’d be.

We can point out his passing turnovers. But he also made some good setups for others to score.

“Rashard” did not have any rotation on his shot but he was effective. Let’s give Andre some time before proclaiming his unorthodox shot can’t work, especially since he still has his fingers taped.
I liked that just for the excellent use of “Rashard.”

This pivot makes your prior posts look worse.

It's okay, if incomplete, to comment that his offense can look, well, offensive at times, but don't add a poor sense of humor to the list of what your critics in this thread are pointing out.

This is quite the turn from a lot saying we should experiment with Andre at PG because we weren’t sure if we had one. Lol

It feels good when the ball is in Newton’s hands. He’s such a great decision maker out there. Hard to believe he didn’t get his first FG until 5 mins left in the game.

Hopefully you're right.
Arnold Palmer had an unorthodox swing and did alright.

That handoff was atrocious but may have happened because it's only his second game with this lineup and he and Newton aren't communicating the best just yet.

His shot is struggling for sure but his form does look better than it has. I believe he will continue to improve
