Week 2 - Nov 11 to 17

I quit watching, but to grossly simplify it, Indiana was hitting shots and Stanford wasn't. Sometimes basketball is a pretty simple game.
I’ll give Tara credit for knowing when it was time to retire. This Stanford team has some size but they really lack athleticism. It could be a long season flying back and forth to the East Coast to play in the ACC.

Van Lith just hit 2000 career points. Yes it's her 5th year, but early on, so only a small * is necessary.

They just showed other active career 2000 point scorers, and most if not all of them have used extra eligibility.

I’m pretty sure Morrow was the only “true Senior”.

My first chance to watch Washington, and they are getting hammered by a mediocre at best Montana team. What the heck?! They look absolutely awful.

Well I've finally seen it. A player got T'd up for screaming "And-1." I've literally seen that thousands of times, with not a single T ever called before. Okay. Of course it came against my team.

I thought this was supposed to be Stuelke's break out year, but so far it's been O'Grady.

Dinnibier putting on a show but not getting any help.

Who would guess w/ Olsen, Affolter and Feuerbach combing for only 16 points (all but 2 for Lucy), Iowa would be just fine.

edit--Dinnibier w/a 40 piece!

Ohio St.-Belmont was tied w/ around 30 seconds left but tOSU scored the last 4 points of the game.

  • Rabbit Stew

  • Cut rabbit into pieces. Layer onion, potatoes, and carrots in bottom of a crock pot.
  • Add spices to the pot.
  • Add rabbit, salt, pepper, consommé, and about 3/4 cup beef broth.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Thicken gravy as desired.

Too many games on today, didn't watch but South Dakota St. made Duke earn it. 75-71 final.

Severely disappointed by Washington today. Just looked terrible, down 77-64 w/ less than a minute to go. This was a 1-2 Montana team that just lost to Cal Poly by double digits. Bottom third of the Big 10 here we come.

I swear I remember when Washington had good teams. I'm not making it up, I know it happened. Seems like absolutely forever ago.

I saw it happen last year in a game Antonelli was calling. Debbie was beside herself, tweeted about it later, seemed ready to mount a march on the Capitol over it...

Gonzaga with a much needed win over Wyoming. Double double for Ejim, Bettencourt led them w/ 16.

So does Adair get an extension with a dominant win over perennial power Oregon State?

No one I feel worse for in WCBB right now than Scott Rueck. He got completely hosed by realignment. And speaking of realignment, what does it say that it took me like 2 minutes to find the ASU-OSU box score on ESPN.com because for the life of me I could not remember what conference either team was in... :D

Yeah I can't even bring myself to watch Oregon St. this year. They brought back a few okay role players and then had to scramble to bring in a bunch of transfers...who are not players you can build a team around, at all. They might be a middle of the pack WCC team at best this year.

It's not all sad news. I think he has a chance of winning his conference tournament this year

I don’t have much to report on the Syracuse/FDU game. Syracuse beat the Knights handily and after Q1 the game never really seemed close. FDU should not be much of a challenge at all for UConn in a few days; they looked pretty mismatched against Syracuse but Syracuse doesn’t have it together enough to execute a proper beat down.

Got to chat with some other Syracuse faithful today. People seem disappointed in the LSU transfer, Velez. I talked to someone who watched her play in HS and said she was really good but it hasn’t seem to translate well into college.

Apparently they are high on the recruits for the class of 2025, though.

quality win.

A Tahini Caesar Bowl, some Garlic Ranch Pita Chips, and 2 warm peanut butter cookies sounds like a good victory meal if I don't say so myself.
What would you recommend for drowning my sorrows after a dismal game I was viewing?
