Monday 11/15
Bowling Green v. 17 OSU (how many points will they win by - 2?)
11 Illinois v. Marquette (Should be a good game. Don't think Cockburn is back yet) (Gavitt Game)
Walla Walla University v. Eastern Washington (What the HECK!!!)
Providence v. Wisconsin (Gavitt Game)

It's early but how awesome would this be?

Houston looks solid. Coming off a FF team. Coukd be 2 solid teams in a row. I'm impressed. Houston and K Sampson may be succeeding in the AAC where we largely failed.

Carlton is playing solid as well.

There are some crazy scores around the country right now. Almost the whole ACC is struggling, and Northwestern is in trouble with under 8 minutes left against New Orleans. With all the roster changes during the offseason, the major conference teams are just trying to avoid a disaster early on. Any win is a good win.

College of Charleston crowd is fun as is the game as they’re up 42-36 over the Tar Heels at the half. They’re pretty good fun game, passionate coach for C of C.

Curious if UConn gets squeezed out by hall and byu in the top 25 next week regardless of what we do this week.

Oregon is getting destroyed, and one of their players just got stuffed by the bottom of the rim while going up for a dunk. Good stuff.

Between 6-11 there’s a nice local team/Big East slate:

6:00 - Boston College @ Rhode Island - CBSSN:

Ex-Charleston coach Earl Grant took on quite a task taking over the BC helm. They’ve played beaten three local cupcakes so far (Dartmouth, Holy Cross, Fairfield) so stats should be taken w/ a grain of sale but Worcester’s pair of DeMarr Langford (17.3 ppg) and Makai Ashton-Langford (13p, 3.7a, 1.0 TO) have shined. In Kingston, Khalid’s kid has been efficient (66.7 fg%) but hasn’t taken a lot of shots (18 total points in two games).

6:30 - LIU @ UConn - FS2:

LIU has had a solid OOC so far, but lost badly to San Francisco and Fresno State. I’m excited to play LIU because their three best players are on their frontcourt: Waterbury’s 6’9 200 Ty Flowers is their stretch 4 (17.5 p), 6’7 185 Earl Penn is their long wing (16.5 p) and Hofstra 6’8 240 grad transfer Isaac Kante is their muscle inside (7p, 4.5r). This type of size is a nice warmup for bigger Big East teams like Seton Hall.

7:00 Michigan State @ Butler - FS1:

Butler won their first three cupcakes and after serving a three-game suspension, Aaron Thompson (overrated) is back. In his place, freshman Jayden Taylor has impressed (13.3p, 3a) and sophomore Chuck Harris (15.7) is cementing his spot as the star of the Bulldogs. On the flip side, Michigan State lost badly to Kansas but dominated CMU 90-46 on Friday. The Spartans are lacking a stud, but they have a deep squad with 6’4 210 big point guard AJ Hoggard (12p, 5.5a), among others, looking to take that next step.

9:00 St. John’s @ Indiana - FS1:

Mike Anderson vs Mike Woodson. Indiana’s success starts and ends with Trayce Jackson-Davis. Can Fordham transfer Joel Soriano handle the defensive load? Pitt transfer Xavier Johnson is a nice veteran scoring piece for Woodson, but Posh should neutralize him. A verrrry intriguing game!

#20 Maryland loses to George Mason
Heck of a coaching debut for Kim English: won their first three games by 20+, two of which against decent cupcakes (Penn, Stony Brook) and now a win against Maryland.

George Mason is just starting a strong OOC: JMU, Washington, Nevada, South Dakota State, Old Dominion, Navy and Georgia.

If the season keeps going strong, I can see English go one-and-done a la Chris Beard and parlay this job to a high major job. He’s a dynamic personality, like Beard.

Multitasking.

Ohio State @ Xavier tonight.

St. Bonaventure @ Boise.

Xavier leads (the) Ohio State (-2.5) at the half, 35-26

Also, Prov leads New Hampshire, 30-27 at halftime.

Marquette plays Ole Miss at 7:00p on ESPN2

Rutgers at DePaul, 8:30p on FS1.

Uncanny how little Xavier passes to each other.

The PAC 12 really sucks. California’s 2OT win over Southern Utah kept the conference from a 1-4 night.

4-0 big east last night. DePaul over Rutgers and Xavier over Ohio St are both solid wins

Auburn and Saint Bonaventure both won but they both look rather beatable. Good news for the Huskies.
