Week 17 - Feb 23 to Mar 1

how? The bubble is too big .
Speaking of Mississippi St., they led early but are down 13 to LSU at the half. If they lose, they will drop to 5-11 in the SEC. How are they on the bubble? How?
The perception of a strong conference beating each other up being better than teams out there playing solid hoop is too hard to overcome, Even for those that cannot get the premier teams to schedule them. And a confession - when teams with suspect records make it in, I usually pick the upset and will root for the underdogs, just because.

I realize the bubble is big and soft, but losing 2/3 of your conference games should be an automatic disqualifier, regardless of conference, regardless of strength of schedule, NET, Quad 1 and 2 wins, anything. You lose that many conference games, you don't deserve it.

Texas Tech finishing off Arizona St. Will be 12-6 in the Big 12. This is essentially the same team that went 4-14 last year. I know Molly Miller is a feel good story with turning around ASU instantly, but I think Gerlich should be Big 12 COY.

Oh my. Washington leads Oregon 7-3 midway thru Q1. Last time they played it was 51-43. Put everything, including your house, on the two teams combining for less than 100 points.*

*don't actually bet your house, or anything of value, on any game; I do not condone sports betting

We've got a pair of "somebody has to win" specials going on right now--Purdue @ Northwestern and UCF @ Houston.
Not that anyone is even slightly interested, but Purdue and UCF notched wins in these hotly contested games.

Oof, Seton Hall took a bad loss @ Butler today.

So I guess Mississippi St. players have been reading my comments during the game and it made them mad. They have rallied within 1 of LSU.

I think seton hall was really excited by the possibility of making the ncaa tournament. And when it became apparent that it wouldn’t happen… they lost focus a bit. And they ended the season poorly as a result.

TCU about to beat Baylor and wrap up the Big 12 crown. I'd probably also accept Campbell as COY. TCU 1st, West Virginia 2nd, Baylor 3rd, Oklahoma St. and Texas Tech tied for 4th.

Missouri made Oklahoma work for it. 84-78 win for the Sooners. 23/9 for Beers.

edit--WOW, 55-35 rebounding advantage for OU; Verlhurst had 12, Williams also w/ 9, 7 for Chavez

Notre Dame knocks off Louisville on the road by 3.

My Huskies led the entire first half, built the lead to 13 to start Q3...then decided to quit scoring. Just like they do at some point every game. Every game. Oregon about to overtake them. Oh well, only have to lose 1 more game in the Big 10 Tourney, lose their opening game in the NCAA Tourney and then the season will be over. Might miss out on hitting 20 wins. Again. Langley seems to max out at 19. When she hit that w/ 3 games remaining I thought one more W was in the bag.

Don’t look now @triaddukefan but you may still get the outright ACC title…..

Thank you Notre Dame. I'm not sure what Catholics do to celebrate, but Imma say a few Hail Marys and buy a rosary tonight

My stinking Huskies. Oregon just grabbed their only lead of the game with 21 seconds left. Dawgs were up by 9 at halftime. This stinking team. And to really put the cherry on top, they are getting lit up by Seattle native Katie Fiso.

Can someone explain A&M only playing 9 OOC games? Scheduling a couple more wins might have really helped this year.

My stinking Huskies managed to win! 70-69. Got a steal and were fouled, hit 1 of 2 FTs, then got a stop on the other end. Paltry 7-12 FT shooting made this closer than it should've been. Sellers scored 29, Fiso had 27.

Well, they got to the magical 20 win plateau. Finally. Only been just shy of a decade since the last time. Also could finish all alone in 8th place if UCLA continues to have their way with USC.

So, for the "North Carolina is so disappointing" and "Banghart has never won a big game" crowd...was this a big game, and was Carolina disappointing finishing 3rd in the ACC, 2 games behind the top team? Just asking.
Carolina was predicted to finish 3rd and they did. They could've finished 2nd outright had they closed out Louisville and Stanford in the final minute of those games. Their clutch 3pt and FT shooting improved over the course of the season.
