Week 14 - Feb 5 to 11

VT up 12 in Raleigh. Kitley is having her way as usual, but the story of the game has been the secondary players for each team. King and Ekh are 7-14 from 3. NCSU is giving up that shot on D over and over on rotations and they are making the Pack pay. Conversely, Mimi Collins and Madison Hayes are a combined 1-15 from the field.

Miss State wins their 5th in a row.
76 to 57 over Georgia.

Coming down to LSU and State for the second seed. And State has the tie breaker.

Chloe Moore-McNeil with a triple-double to help Indiana pull it out against MSU. She had 10 rebounds of the total of 43 in the game.

VT raining 3s in Raleigh. State had cut it to 6 and appeared to be gaining a little momentum and then VT pours it on to end the quarter and lead by 13 heading into the 4th.

Fantastic ball movement, good shooting, and great hustle to get second chances from the Hokies. Pretty much the exact opposite for the home team.

Vandy down 22-7 after one period. Settled down on defense but having trouble getting any kind of shot off against their size. Shea running a lot of players in, obviously hoping to wear them down a bit. Reese with eight points and eight rebounds. Vandy with a 5-minute scoring drought.

The Pack gets vastly outplayed in the front court. State hangs their hat on rebounding and VT is +16 on the boards. River Baldwin appears hobbled, Mimi Collins had her worst game of the season. The starting front court for the Pack went 1-11 from the field for 6 points and 8 rebounds. Kitley goes for 25 and 13 and Ling and Ekh combine for 8-20 from 3. Amoore goes for 12/8/10.

VT snaps States 14 game home win streak … the last home loss for State was …. VT.

Hokies sole possession of the conference in impressive fashion.

Here are the remaining games for the ones tied for second (plus Ole Miss), assuming an LSU win. Bama has games against South Carolina and LSU so I don’t see them pulling off either.
Ole Miss- @UF, MSU, UGA, @Mizz, @UK, Ark
Tennessee- Ark, USC, @Vandy, LSU, TAM, @USC
LSU- Bama, @TAM, Aub, @UT, @UGA, Ken
Mississippi State- UF, @Ole Miss, UK, @Bama, @Aub, Mizz
Tonight’s game aside I still favor Ole Miss. LSU would be my next pick then Mississippi State. State still has road games at Ole Miss, Bama and Auburn.

State is tied for second with Tenn and LSU, everyone else has 4 losses. Tenn still has to play South Carolina. Tie goes to MSU over LSU. State is finally jelling, The transfers and the freshman are really contributing. We had 12 more assists than Georgia tonight. Ole Miss loses at least 2 more.

Vandy cut it to 12, then two missed shots and a turnover later, they're down 18 going to the fourth quarter.

Raise your hand if you thought someone would score 40+ for Iowa tonight...and it wouldn't be Clark. Huh. Stuelke darn near would've scored 50 if she could hit FTs. Never saw that coming.

Have teammates ever scored 40 or more in the same season before? I know Collier and Samuelson both had 40 point games during their UConn careers, but can't remember if it was in the same season.

Clark with a bit of a dubious triple double--points, assists and turnovers. I don't think that counts officially.

Kapinus, Marisa and Owusu have shot a combined 9-37, Penn St. never stood a chance. Although they have put up 89 points...they've just allowed 106.

With Gonzaga star Ejim with the Canadian National Team at the moment, the Zags had absolutely no troubles w/ hapless Pepperdine tonight.

111-93 final Iowa wins. 47 pts for Stuelke, astounding 17-20 from the floor, 13-21 from the charity stripe. Clark went ice cold after halftime but still scored 27, along w/ 15 assists.

If I recall correctly, the announcers showed a graphic that VPI was 2-40 against Top 3 opponents, the 2 being NCSU. With tonight's win against the Wolfpack, they're 3-40.

They’re not VPI anymore, they’re VT. And VT stands for Victory Time!

Even the computers knew

I’d like to see an LNIT contested among the 8 worst P6 schools. 6 autobids and 2 at large.
  • Xavier
  • Wake
  • UCF
  • Rutgers
  • Georgia
  • ArizSt

TGIF y'all - today's PAC12 palooza of games. An opportunity for Stanford and Colorado to separate from the pack, either Oregon St or Utah to make a move, and UCLA and USC to stay in the hunt for a 1st round bye in the PAC12 tourney.

On edit - as of today, there were only four losses by top 25 teams, however, baring any upsets, there will be at least one tonight (OR St/Utah), one tomorrow (WV/Baylor), and two Sunday (L'ville/Syr, OR St/CO)

Czninano never put up something like that and she was very efficient, but 17-20?????? :eek:Penn State defence in the paint looks to have been non-existent last night.

Has any team ever play seven top-25 teams in a row in conference play? Brutal schedule for Oregon with four of those games remaining.

If UCLA is still down Betts, I wonder if Arizona can make things interesting since Dugalic and Sontag are the the olympic qualifiers.
