Seems like they usually stay relatively close to home. At least for their pod if not Region. So maybe playing in LA for opening weekend. Really not sure any other west coast schools will be hosting, feels pretty bizarre to say that. And of course you are already penciling them in, but they'll have to win the Big Sky Tourney because it's a 1 bid league.
Barring an upset I can't see the Cats losing in the tournament. They beat number two NAU twice relatively soundly and third place Idaho so I would be really surprised to see them drop a game in the tournament.

That said hope springs eternal and if Leia Bettie who played 2 years at Montana State can regain her stroke anything's possible in the tournament... But Montana State will be the overwhelming favorite to close to finish the regular season undefeated in the league and sweep through the tournament.

Actually several interesting games this Saturday, unlike the last few that have been a dead zone. Ohio St. @ USC and Kansas St. @ Oklahoma St. are the headliners. 2 other ranked Big 12 teams playing what should be fairly easy games. Out of everything else, the game that most catches my eye is a non conference tilt between 19-4 Ball St. @ 20-4 James Madison.
My eyes will be closed for the rivalry game down in the dirty t as the kitties pound Natasha Adair's club by at least 30. The nice coach from Delaware and 2021 CAA Coach of the Year award winner continues the rebuild and is a lock for a third consecutive 20 loss season. I think I just don't understand what rebuild means at least from the point of view of Michael Crowe and the AD in Tempe

Unlike their previous game I'm suspecting the kitties Cunningham manages to stay out of foul trouble and she will feast. Williams and Jones are salivating at playing against the philosophy that Natasha Adair has instilled as her Sun Devils relentlessly refuse to guard the three line.

I'll be very surprised if the kitties don't drain at least 7 threes and suffer at least 30 fouls at the hands of the hacking Devil defense. It's possible in fact probable the Devils will have more turnovers than made field goals.

McKale will be hopping as the men's game at 5:30 is sold out and I suspect there will be at least 9,000 kitties in the stands enjoying what will in terms of slaughter will rival that famous football game a few years ago.

How did I miss this? The MAC-Sun Belt Challenge is going on today!

UNC-G was up 3 with 6.4 second to go..... instead of fouling to send ETSU to the line... they allow the player to go the length of the court to launch a game tying 3 with 0.2 seconds left.. On to overtime

I still don't understand this. How many times does it have to happen before coaches automatically go with the foul?

Somehow they've avoided my list of potentially worst teams in the country til now, but Niagara is 1-19 overall and 0-12 in the MAAC, lost today to Quinnipiac 70-38. Ouch! Yeah, they are definitely on the list. Looks like the one W was a non-D1 team, and most of the losses are by big margins.

In a throw out the record book game in the SoCon Wofford and Furman are all tied up at 70-70 headed into the final seconds. Lawd hamercy... SoCon action isn't for the weak of heart

Crazy. Niagara won 20 games last year and I watched them lose in OT to Fairfield in the Conference Championship game. .. they must have lost all of their players.

Yeah, I didn't remember them being so bad previously.

Dare we say there are no nights off in the SoCon?

Furman was up 18 on Wofford in the 3rd quarter.... the Terriers fought back... tied at 70... On Furman's Senior night... a Senior hit a layup with 2.5 seconds to put them up 72-70. Furman had 2 fouls to give, but choose not to foul.... but fouled a Wofford player on a layup. The Wofford player waits on the FT line, but the refs delayed the game about 5 minutes to review the time. Despite the icing... the Terrier player hit 2 free throws to send the game to OT

Unbelievable.... Wofford jumps out to a 79-72 lead in OT..... Furman's top 2 scorers and PG's foul out ... they fight back... but Wofford leads 82-80 in the final seconds... Furman Freshman hits a shot in the paint with 0.3 seconds left to send the game into Double OT 82-82.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Final score isn't even indicating how lopsided this was. I think it was 74-34 at one point. 85-55 final Oklahoma St. K State went on a 10-0 run to start Q3, starting to think maybe they could claw back into it...then 19-2 OSU the rest of the quarter. Career high 8 3's for Asi, 24 points, 21 for Heard and 19 for Gray.

With this loss by K State, the Big 12 is wide open coming down the stretch. Could be as many as 6 teams within 1 game of first place, assuming Utah maintains healthy lead against UCF. Baylor and TCU could both move into a tie for first place if they win today.

ASU is gonna have to really work to lose by 30+. Down by 4 at the half. Were you doing some reverse jinxing action?

Half time in Arizona

GCU and NAU taking care of business, everyday.

Lopes hitting threes and hold the Lancers to lead 39-27 at the half.

NAU with 51 first half points. 9 for 14 from threeland and 64 per cent overall from the field. The Jacks are hitting their shots they're a very difficult team to be and they're really hitting shots this afternoon.

And down in the dirty t the territorial cup is not bringing out the best in the kitties as they light up the scoreboard with 28 to take a 4-point lead over the devils. I'm sure coach Barnes will make those halftime adjustments and it's impossible to even consider an upset

In a marathon rivalry game... Furman knocks off Wofford 93-89 in Double OT... what a wild game. Crazy that its Senior night already for Furman. Looking in the stands I was reminded that it is Furman University

Announced attendance at McKale 8370 as dirty t shows up and is hoping the kitties avoid a major upset in a two-point game midway through the third quarter

It's a shame she missed out last year when they had Pili too--glad she's recovered well from her broken foot though.
Yeah, that's definitely a "what could've been..." scenario.

Down in the dirty t......could it be........upset alert. 44-44 in the 4th

Arizona wins 66-59. I had a feeling this was gonna be a lot closer than your dire predictions!

UNLV pounded New Mexico 90-65. Almost have the Mountain West wrapped up. Colorado St. and Wyoming are 2 games back, everybody else is completely out of reach at this point.

But, as they say a loss is a loss. Devils xtend the losing streak to nine games and if I heard them announcers correctly they indicated that Barnes never lost to the Devils as a player and I think she may have only lost once as a coach back in the CTT days.
