TCU pulled away in 2nd half to win comfortably 63-42. Sub par games for Prince and Van Lith. Roberson picked up some slack w/ 14 off the bench, Conner had an efficient 13.

Gonzaga had to go OT but beats Washington St. 73-69. Tough shooting night for Ejim but she did have 16 pts and 17 rebounds, and a couple key plays at the end to seal the win.

I'm sure it's not what Kansas St. was expecting either.
After handling loss of Aoka Lee so far, they imploded today. Another candidate for that elusive #8 spot refusing to claim it.

Now it's TCU, tOSU and pretty much whole triangle competing for that position.

Really ugly first half for Ohio State/USC. USC living at the line and that's the difference in the game. OSU's offense looks stagnant outside of A'jae Petty who has some great post moves. Watkins is 0-8 so far and looks frustrated.

Yeah, commentator keeps saying "keep shooting it," but I disagree. She's taken some really bad shots. Other players are scoring and tOSU is just about helpless trying to stop Iriafen. Maybe, don't keep shooting?

Baylor beat BYU 83-71, it wasn't really that close. Big game for Littlepage-Buggs. 26 pts/13 reb, 9-11 FG 8-10 FT. Gibb had 21 for BYU.

.-.
Juju is now 2-16. Cambridge is 3-12. Interesting when these games that are supposed to be a big showdown between 2 players just does not materialize at all.

Still ugly but USC in control. tOSU can't really deal with USC's size.

Probably won't happen, but it's close--all 5 starters w/ double digit rebounds? That is CRAZY. USC has 3 w/ 10+ and the other 2 w/ 8 each. Massive 62-30 rebounding advantage, including 19 O boards.

edit--84-63 final, Trojans ran away in 4th quarter

Wild that USC has starters out there up 24 with 2 minutes to go, just blatantly trying to get points for Watkins. Also this female announcer is insufferable praising her when Juju has had one of the worst games of her career.

Really good win for USC, they looked like the clear better team from start to finish. Their trio of freshmen were great on on both ends. The announcers couldn’t stop praising Watkins for a 5-21 shooting night but made no mention to highlight how well Kennedy Smith played: 13 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks and was phenomenal on both ends. Iriafen with a big night too. Their best offense was letting Juju draw attention and it created good looks for others. They looked massive compared to Ohio State who got destroyed on the glass. I don’t think Ohio State is a top 10 team. Their only “meaty” win was beating Maryland by 8 when they were without Sellers.

Marshall had an impact on the game too, as we both noticed USC was just too big for Ohio St. Not a huge game statistically but some big plays. 10 points, 5 of her 8 rebounds were offensive, and 4 blocks.

While this has been a tough stretch for JuJu, it's been a great stretch for Marshall, Smith, Heckel etc. as they have all had to step up. This can only make U$C better in March.

An odd stat. Despite getting killed on the boards 62-30, tOSU had exactly the same number of shots as the Trojans 68. They just made 7 less.

Yeah they caused a lot of turnovers, they just didn't do much with those changes of possession.

JuJu was 3-19 at one point, yet was in the game until the buzzer, quickly jacking up shots to pad her point total.

Kind of a bad look for wcbb's main media darling of 2025.

Michigan gets revenge over Michigan St. in East Lansing.

I'd had some questions about how legit Texas is, but props to them for a huge win today.

I guess all streaks have to end eventually.

Texas won that game making no threes. What a blessing to have impactful post players.

Texas took it from the start and played tough. Mentally and physically. Great win over South Carolina.

Polls gonna be interesting. If ND had an average weekend it would be a no brainer to keep SC as #2, but after what ND did ...
I'd still vote SC #2.

In terms of the committee, SC is still #2 easily.

Monster win this afternoon by Texas. The whole game it felt like Texas was going to win, though South Carolina made it close.

Texas really outplayed South Carolina in the paint. Taylor Jones was a warrior in the first half and played great, then Kyla Oldacre was dominant in the second on the glass and finishing inside. Madison Booker missed a lot of shots but really battled this game and seemed laser focused after a poor showing their first matchup.

For South Carolina, everything just felt a little flat. It's like everyone on the roster was playing at a 6.5 out of 10 and that's not going to get the job done on the road against a top 5 team. I think the lack of having an obvious go to player hurt them today, though their depth is usually their best asset. There were a lot of whistles in the first half, including a couple pretty bad calls that went against Feagin. I thought the reffing smoothed out in the 2nd half and both teams had moments of finding their rhythm.

Also, I wonder if this will re-invigorate the Dawn/Vic rivalry that dominated the SEC for a few years. Going down memory lane you had:

2017-their teams met in the title game. Dawn's team won for the 3rd time that year and won the title.
2018-Mississippi State won the regular season battle, Dawn's team upset them in the SEC Tournament and ruined their perfect season
2020-Mississippi State nearly upset South Carolina in Columbia in a fantastic game
2021-Vic's Cinderella Texas team got clobbered by South Carolina in the Elite 8

Today's a new chapter in the rivalry, as it's Vic's first win over Dawn since the 2019 season, and it's South Carolina's first SEC loss since 2021.

I think Texas should get a bump to the #1 line over USC. On the year now they have wins over South Carolina, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Alabama, Maryland, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. Still have upcoming games at Kentucky and vs. LSU at home.

South Carolina is safely on the 1 line, either as the #2 or #3 overall seed. I think they're fine--this was going to be a tough game to win for anybody, playing in front of a sold out crowd on the road. Home court advantage seems to be a massive thing this year, as almost every loss by a top 10 team has been in a neutral/road setting. The only exceptions being Notre Dame winning at USC, USC winning at UCONN, and South Carolina winning at TCU.
