I also don't know why she called to review the play where a Blue Devil player stepped on the out of bounds stripe when attempting a 3 point shot. The official that made the call had a clear view of it. And if it was for a timing issue, there was no need for it. Did she review every stoppage of play in the last couple of minutes????
In fairness, the announcers weren't sure why it took so long.I thought they were checking the clock as well, but I really don't know. At the game you don't have the advantage of hearing the perspective from the announcers.
I can't be positive but both live and on the ESPN app replay, it sounded like Kantner announced to the crowd that they were reviewing the call of the player stepping out of bounds. Of course once they review any play, the review can include anything that they want to look at. BTW the time on the clock, 26.4, was not changed after the review.Weren’t they checking for the time on the clock?

i agree as to why but my question would be what if tbey ruled she was in, the shot was missed and then the ball went out when players heard whistle stopped playing who would they give the ball to?I can't be positive but both live and on the ESPN app replay, it sounded like Kantner announced to the crowd that they were reviewing the call of the player stepping out of bounds. I’ve had similar thoughts to reviews in the men’s game concerning goaltending calls. Many times this year I’ve seen where there will be a blocked shot on a play and it’s ruled a goaltend. 2 points awarded and the game proceeds. Then at the next media timeout they may review that goaltend - what happens if it’s overturned and called a clean block? Who gets the ball? The game continued and possession changed - does that team get a free possession that they may have gotten if the ball was originally ruled a block? It doesn’t make much sense to me.I

In situations where it's not conclusive, I've seen referees say it's a jumpball. Not sure if it would be applicable here.I’ve had similar thoughts to reviews in the men’s game concerning goaltending calls. I'm guessing a jump ball would be called too.I

Wasn't able to see the game, haven't seen the highlights or replay. That being said.... I'm still salty With all due respect I'm tired of losing to those farmers and veterinarians
Don't think so with this specific rivalry. I recall the announcers saying NC State and Duke only play each other once in conference play.Sorry.
Road rivalry game during season so there’s still time…
Yep. The ugliness of conference realignment. State plays Duke once this year and UNC once this year. It’s absurd. But hey…we get exciting match up with SMU and California schools as well as snowy trips to the northeast! (Nothing against those schools at all - just pointing out the absurdity of where this has all left us).Don't think so with this specific rivalry. Ah come on, snow can be fun. The teams just need to find time to squeeze in some ice fishing to make it a productive trip.Yep. The ugliness of conference realignment. Was referring to the season not a rematch.Don't think so with this specific rivalry. I recall the announcers saying NC State and Duke only play each other once in conference play.
I took your comment "so there's still time" differently. Was referring to the season not a rematch.
Duke plays NC twice, and NC St plays Wake twice. Does anyone know if this becomes the annual 'rivalry' series, or if there is a plan to rotate the one remaining home and home matchup in future years?Don't think so with this specific rivalry. Pretty sure that’s it. Duke/UNC are deemed each others “rival” and play each other every year twice and state/wake are the same. Just the ACC once more giving State the step child treatment. Wake is not our rival - I mean it’s an in state school but they would rank a very distant third behind UNC and Duke when it comes to States rivals.Duke plays NC twice, and NC St plays Wake twice. Soooo overpriced, very boring, and yet somehow the place I'm looking to move to ASAP given the state of the world we're now living in?Pretty sure that’s it. No one cares about wake. They are the Switzerland of the ACC.
