I thought they were checking the clock as well, but I really don't know. At the game you don't have the advantage of hearing the perspective from the announcers.

I can't be positive but both live and on the ESPN app replay, it sounded like Kantner announced to the crowd that they were reviewing the call of the player stepping out of bounds. Of course once they review any play, the review can include anything that they want to look at. BTW the time on the clock, 26.4, was not changed after the review.
i agree as to why but my question would be what if tbey ruled she was in, the shot was missed and then the ball went out when players heard whistle stopped playing who would they give the ball to?

I’ve had similar thoughts to reviews in the men’s game concerning goaltending calls. Many times this year I’ve seen where there will be a blocked shot on a play and it’s ruled a goaltend. 2 points awarded and the game proceeds. Then at the next media timeout they may review that goaltend - what happens if it’s overturned and called a clean block? Who gets the ball? The game continued and possession changed - does that team get a free possession that they may have gotten if the ball was originally ruled a block? It doesn’t make much sense to me.

In situations where it's not conclusive, I've seen referees say it's a jumpball. Not sure if it would be applicable here.

Duke on a 17-0 run. I'm picturing @triaddukefan as the panda here:

More like this when I saw the final score

Wasn't able to see the game, haven't seen the highlights or replay. That being said.... I'm still salty  With all due respect I'm tired of losing to those farmers and veterinarians

Sorry. :(
Road rivalry game during season so there’s still time…

Don't think so with this specific rivalry. I recall the announcers saying NC State and Duke only play each other once in conference play.

Yep. The ugliness of conference realignment. State plays Duke once this year and UNC once this year. It’s absurd. But hey…we get exciting match up with SMU and California schools as well as snowy trips to the northeast! (Nothing against those schools at all - just pointing out the absurdity of where this has all left us).

Saves yall from an arse kicking in Cameron Indoor this season.

Ah come on, snow can be fun. The teams just need to find time to squeeze in some ice fishing to make it a productive trip. ;)

Was referring to the season not a rematch.

Duke plays NC twice, and NC St plays Wake twice. Does anyone know if this becomes the annual 'rivalry' series, or if there is a plan to rotate the one remaining home and home matchup in future years?

Pretty sure that’s it. Duke/UNC are deemed each others “rival” and play each other every year twice and state/wake are the same. Just the ACC once more giving State the step child treatment. Wake is not our rival - I mean it’s an in state school but they would rank a very distant third behind UNC and Duke when it comes to States rivals.

No one cares about wake. They are the Switzerland of the ACC.

Soooo overpriced, very boring, and yet somehow the place I'm looking to move to ASAP given the state of the world we're now living in? ;)

Pretty much.

Basically no one really hates wake. They are just a neutral. Mostly harmless.

Update to post #2 with the conference vs overall standings here:

I'm sure Molly Miller keeps this in perspective as the Lopes prepare for Abilene Christian this Saturday 2:00 p.m. tip on ESPN Plus.

As a fan I have the luxury of looking ahead and I really wish I knew what regional the Lopes would be assigned to assuming they win the tournament.

Thank you Penn St.! Washington desperately needed a win, gonna get one on the road against PSU. Both teams shot well, but Dawgs were blistering at 60% and 12-25 from deep. Nittany Lions couldn't buy any from behind the arc, there's your difference. Even a big FTA differential couldn't make up for that. Kind of the forgotten player Hannah Stines went nuts today, 26 points on 11-18 shooting and 4-8 from 3. After a slow start Ladine ends up w/ another 20 point game. 80-69 w/ a few ticks left on the clock.

UW has gotten very TO happy on this 2 game trip. 25 against tOSU and another 24 today. Yikes!

edit--82-71 final, I think 28 for Stines is a career high; just missed a 30 piece, would've been the third different Husky to do that this season

KSt with a huge win over TCU, without Ayoka.

USC with an unimpressive game against a not-very-good Wisconsin, before pulling away in the 4th Q.

I didn't catch the game, I checked the box score and JuJu's stats were well below her normal performance. Was she injured ? Foul trouble ?

UCLA over Ohio St 30-24 at the half.
Ugly game: Bruins with 14 turnovers, OSU 8-34 on FG's. Ugh.

Not watching (no bird network) but seems like Buckeyes not folding. Have closed to 42-40 late in 3rd.

Los Angeles kids just unfocused on midwest road trip. Busy googling wind chill factor, ticking off states on their never visited before list, and packing up their signed Caitlyn Clark gear.

They will get focused quick though with OSU and UCLA looming.

On the serious side, the rotation players and freshmen are getting more involved. This can only help them in March.

Interesting to see this kind of performance from ucla.
On the flip side, maybe Ohio St. was looking past their game on Sunday in anticipation of this one, because they did not look remotely like a Top 10 team.

Wow. OhioSt tied it up at 44 and then UCLA put the hammer down -- 14-1 run.
balanced too: 6 from Kiki, 4 from Jaquez, 2 each from Betts and Barker

Now 17-1. This is the response you want from your team in crunch time.

One of UCLA's biggest vulnerabilities for the NCAAs is that they have no experience -- lost in sweet 16 last 2 years. How do you respond to the pressure if you get down and your season could end? SoCar and ND aint gonna choke it away.

From 9:30 to 2:12 in 4th qtr, UCLA goes on 19-1 run to break a tie and ends Buckeyes' comeback.
OhioSt scores 7 of last 9 to pull it back to a more respectable 65-52 final.
