Half jokingly and half seriously, Washington has been such a poor shooting team since Plum left that I thought there might be something wrong with the rims in Hec Ed. Well, Iowa and Indiana came to town to check that out for me, and they both say the rims are fine. Iowa shot 72% overall and 9-13 behind the arc (69%). Indiana "only" shot 51% and 13-23 from deep (56%). Last two opponents a combined 22-36 from 3, do you think the defense was good?
UW overcame a 13 point deficit at the start of Q4, tied it, but ultimately lost by 3. Scorched by Garzon, 35 points on 13-18 shooting and 8-10 from long range.
I might have to start up my chant again. UW has been beating up on bad teams, but seems to have trouble winning against anyone with a pulse. Not seeing much in the way of readily winnable games the rest of the way. Maybe Penn St. on the road and Rutgers at home. They play a pair against Oregon, would be nice to split. Ohio St on the road will be ugly, probably not much chance of beating Minnesota or Nebraska on the road. USC at home not much chance either (they did somehow beat the Trojans last year though). Currently 4-5 in conference and that's probably gonna get a lot worse between now and the end of the season. I'm not really into 8 year rebuilding projects. We're only halfway there, so a long way to go.
edit--forgot Maryland at home, another not real likely win
