Week 13 games (Feb. 15-21)

NAU Lumberjacks versus Weber State coming up at noon MST on Pluto TV. You can warm up for the Huskies 1:00 tip by watching the first half of the Lumberjacks game.

That’s great intel for us as I didn’t know the HPU coach was under Karl Smesko. It this coach can get few P5 schools on his OOC schedule and win their seedlings in future NCAAT could improve like FGCUs will this year. FGCU is certainly capable of making a Sweet16 this year.

Actually it's a she..... Chelsea Banbury. I suspect she will only be here for a few more years. As with the previous 2 coaches (Jennifer Hoover and DeUnna Hendrix) parlayed successful seasons into higher profile gigs (Wake Forest and Miami of Ohio). She's fairly young... maybe 36.. and is really intense on the sidelines. I witnessed that upclose last year as the game I attended.... I sat behind the HPU bench.. maybe 6 feet from the coach. Very Intense.

UCF managed to win another ugly game, their calling card, today. The end of year back to back games against USF are looming.

Jacks lead winless Weber State 19-16 at the end of the first in spite of a marked lack of interest in defense.

Jacks widen lead to 10 midway through the second quarter as Regan Schrenk looks to shoot and is 5 for 7 from the floor with 12 points.

Creighton leading DePaul 42-36 at the half @DePaul. Game on FS1 for channel flippers That would be a painful loss.

.-.
Montana St. up 45-34 on Idaho St. midway thru Q3.

Montana State leading Idaho State headed into the fourth. A loss by ISU opens the door for Idaho.

NAU taking care of business 67-48 over Weber State. Point guard Regan Schenck with 27.

Edit 29

Edit 31 on 14 of 18 shooting. Career high. First Jack to hit 30 this season.

Edit final 85- 68 final

And zero defense. DePaul a sieve. Creighton 59% 53% on 3's

DePaul can’t score and Creighton can’t miss. Its 82-66 Creighton, 1:25 left

Welp, Doug just got himself a what-the-hey loss. (Had to edit due to the swear word filter)

Hampton converts a 3 point play with 10 seconds to take the lead 66-65..... then HPU hits 2 free throws with 5.0 seconds to go, and Hampton misses a 3 pt shot at the buzzer... HPU escapes 67-66, improving to 16-2 in the Big South. Big South Action is FANTASTIC.... Time for some nutella to calm my nerves

Green Bay beat Wright St. again. Milwaukee is rolling UIC. Horizon is wide open.

HUGE upset down in Boiling Springs (NC)...... The Running Bulldogs of Garner Webb come from behind to beat 2nd Place Longwood 75-73. This was senior night... and a senior #42 hit the winning shot with 0.5 seconds on the clock.

This loss will prevent Longwood from tying HPU in the conference standings... taking most of the luster off of the huge HPU-Longwood set next week.

I can't speak for others on the BY...but I have been tossing and turning in my bed for weeks, ahead of the HPU-Longwood showdown.

Nicholls' post-season hopes took a big hit today, with the Lady Colonels falling to Central Arkansas at home, 61-50. At 6-12 on the season, and now 6-6 in the Southland, Nicholls' only hope for the post-season now appears to be winning the conference tournament.

This is DePaul's first "bad" loss of the year — their first loss to a team not in the top 5. The number of teams in the country that haven't had a similar or worse loss is very small. Stanford lost to Colorado; TAMU lost to LSU; NC State lost to UNC; and so on and so on.

The Bluejays aren't that bad, just quite young and inconsistent. We should recall that they absolutely destroyed Nebraska, who has gone on to make some waves against good teams in the Big Ten.

Georgia Tech trailing Boston College 25-20 at the half?

Washington St. looking to bounce back, leading Utah 26-14 thru Q1.

Boston College 49-43 over Georgia Tech. Yikes.
