Week 1 games

As much as I want to I refuse to watch any game that isn't UCONN and it will stay that way. I should get a regular antennae for sports so at least I don't give them my ratings.

Clemson at Duke in action tonight - a chance to look at what kind of team we'll face at the Rent in 3 weeks.

Duke looks good so far. Should be up but making a few mistakes and aren’t taking care of the ball. Defense looks fast…
 
Misappropriation of bleed blue by Dook makes me throw up in my mouth. Go Tigers.
 
Duke looks like a superb team - they have a QB that looks like he will play on Sundays. Giving Clemson all they can handle.

Cripes, Clemson fumbles on back to back possessions inside the 10.

Had a helluva drive before that 2nd fumble at the 1. Pretty much pushed Duke around.

We have an offense that can eat clock if we use it. Seems many here want to see an aerial show from our boys, but there's not much to support that works yet. We know we can run and our backs can get YAC on screens and short passes. Keep the ball out of Duke's hands and they won't get to 38.

Poor Clemson. QB slides just short of the 1st down marker on 4th and long. Gets his bell rung. Duke penalized for targeting but refs say it's a dead ball foul, so Duke gets possession (less 15 yards). I had no idea that was a thing - thought targeting would've ensured Clemson a 1st down.

(couple minutes later...) This is now a comedy. Ball bounces off Clemson WR's hands right into breadbasket of a Duke defender. Looks like Clemson will be held to 7 points. When's last time that happened?

Dabo is going to have some nasty phone calls from big boosters this week.
 
Not impressed with the Clemson qb he’s a gadget qb who will get exposed by real defenses.
 
Duke's D is playing very well and at the same time is getting some ridiculous breaks off Clemson miscues.

Pro tip to Clemson. Next time wait until the end of the season before you become a gigantic pain in the butt to the conference. The game officials paychecks do have "ACC" on them after all.

The Clemson lawyers looking at how to break the ACC GOR can sleep in tomorrow. I suspect the SEC and Big 10 are re-evaluating expansion plans.

I’ll say it again also - Duke plays Notre Dame the week after us, so this ideally is a trap game if they come in sleeping.

Huge game for us, who cares game just get the win for them.
 
Hmm. So a bunch of SEC and other schools (like Clemson) renowned for their cheating dominate college football (and in some cases, basketball) for a decade because they are willing to cheat at a different level from everyone else, fall back to earth when they don't have the cheating advantage since paying players is no longer cheating.
 
Dukies should be ranked and 3-0 for UConn game. But maybe they’ll be looking ahead to ND game following week, and the possibility of hosting gameday.
 
Bring the noise to the Rent on the 23rd. We're gonna need it.
