Harvard beat Indiana in OT. A couple of upsets tonight.

Don't look now, but my Aggies of NC A&T lead the mighty Owls of Rice 47-39 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Dang, non contact knee injury for Jana Van Gytenbeek. That's never good.

Tough loss for Indiana. But Holmes and Scalia are gone. I thought it was a bit optimistic to rank that team.

My Aggies go 0-2 down in Texas.... losing a heartbreaker 61-60 to Rice.

They return home next week to open the home slate vs that team from Orange County, NC

Another easy win for Washington, 81-50 over Pacific. Both games all 11 players on the roster scored.

Mississippi State wins opener over Memphis 100-56. State got a new 6-6 center from Kenya named Madina Okot. She had been trying to get to the United States for a couple of years but finally got her visa approved. She had been doing very well in closed scrimmages. Tonight she had 14 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocks in 23 minutes. She has the skill, length, athleticism and aggressive to really help this season.

Dang, I only recognize 2 players on Colorado's roster that were there last year--Formann and Wetta. Diew, Garzon and Teder I know from their previous schools. The rest are Fr. or transfers that I'm not familiar with. Or maybe 1 or 2 that were there before but didn't play?

A few of these games, blink and you miss it going from close to a blowout. Wazzu only trailed Stanford by 8 somewhere a bit after halftime, now the margin is 26 midway thru Q4.

Cougs NEVER beat Stanford while they were both in the Pac 10/12, now with match ups probably being infrequent, probably never will.

Random fact I learned last night: ESPN+ games are accessible through the Hulu app on the sports tab. I thought I would pay it forward, or maybe I was the only person who had no idea about this capability.

Because of that, it allows for me to watch those games on my TV without attaching my computer. Prior to yesterday I was plugging up my computer to my TV and essentially using it as a monitor to log into ESPN.com and watch those games. It took out a step for me and also is a better quality picture too. Obviously, you have to have subscriptions for both to make it work...

Similar to last year, I keep it to top 25 teams, however I may throw in a few faves such as Vandy, Gonzaga, etc.

I think Creighton will lose tonight.

This game is at South Dakota State. They are good. They will be a tournament team again. They had a competitive tune-up game against Rice. And this is Creighton's first game of the season. (A Creighton team I don't think is as good as they have been.)

Any time Jensen or Maly have an off night. I think this Creighton team will be very beatable.

The line I saw on draftkings was Creighton -1.5; so the bettors think it is a coin flip. But I am convinced South Dakota State wins.

If I read correctly, part of the appeal of the Stanford / Gonzaga game is the naming of the court at Maples.

It also turns out that my LG Smart TV handles (somehow) the ESPN+ app. Originally, it didn't and I seem to recollect one of the options being listed was Hulu. At some point, this changed, and we were able to check out some possibly questionable plays from one of the exhibitions that we couldn't see courtside due to being blocked by the ref / players.

I am watching Arizona State and Arkansas state. And Arizona state has kind of unraveled. Led by around 10. Trail 55-51 at the half.

Former big east freshman of the year Kennedy Fauntleroy is here. I was wondering how many turnovers she had and then she proceeded to turn the ball over on three straight possessions. So, that isn’t good. Arizona state has struggled with the Arkansas state press.

Arizona state is an interesting team. Their coach has a record of 19-40. But there has been progress each year. So, I don’t consider her in trouble. Not yet anyway. And they should do better in the big xii.

Lots of turn over on this team too. I only recognize a couple of players from last year.

It is shaping up to be a really bad loss for Arizona state. Down 6 with less than 5 minutes to go. And a handful of Arkansas state fans have taken over and turned this into a road atmosphere.

Edit: Arizona state did rally and briefly took the lead late. But Arkansas state won. And like I said before. It is a bad loss. Massey had Arizona state by about 17 in this one. Arizona state clearly has the better talent. But still lost. I think every team should press Arizona state until they prove they can break it. Press Boston university too btw.

#21 Creighton just lost to unranked South Dakota State.

Creighton did end up losing. I think there is a chance they only go .500 with their non conference schedule. It is absolutely brutal. If they struggle too much. The big east may end up a 1 bid league for the ncaa tournament.

Next up Drake. Home opener. Creighton has typically been good off a loss the last couple of seasons. Drake is good though. Another dangerous game.
