Wednesday. Biggest game in Hartford since when?

Paterno has been dead since 2012 so you are correct, we never will beat him. Plus he was a football coach
It can be confusing:

With Paterno, it was Jerry Sandusky's molestations in the showers

With Pitino, it was sex on a table in the back room at Porcini

And yes, Louisville has two rounds with Bobby Petrino, who has created messes at many places over the past decades, and was hired last month to be Offensive Coordinator for Bill Belichek's UNC Tar Heels.

From a walk along Frankfort Avenue last week...

Atmosphere was as good as Nova in 2022. Had this game been closer down the stretch it would have surpassed it imo. Crowd was rocking until the 8 minute timeout. Even after then it was still electric but not quite as much as the first 32 minutes.
Crowd was electric all game. Maybe a little lull to start 2h, but like you said… people were up and screaming very loudly until about that 8 minute timeout mark. Fans started to leave, but what are ya gonna do up 30+ on a school night.

.-.
The first good (it was the best crowd) since the late 2000s. People can argue with me all they want but Hartford has not been that great since Calhoun left. Sure there have been moments. But last night was straight electric. Big red chant one after another, people standing without Hurley/bench having to egg them on.

If we can get even 60-70% of last night going forward for big non conference/conference games then you won't hear any complaints

Villanova in 22 was the best crowd I had seen in Hartford in a long time. Last night def rivaled that.

I would say Villanova in 2022 was damn good, but other than that game I agree. UConn's homecourt in the 1990s and 2000s was very loud and raucous.

But your last statement hit home. I want to see this type of crowd and energy all the time no matter the opponent. If that is too idealistic, at least 60-70% like you said going forward. I want this energy for Senior Day on Saturday.

Not denying Hartford was great. But with that opponent and that performance I have a feeling Gampel might have sounded good too. It’s tough to be loud when the team struggles

2014 had some great games including the rock fight vs Cincinnati

Yes ok Mr pedantic
I am not trying to pick on you but I am trying to make a point. The fan base seems to want this to be the women’s team. Where we never lose and never struggle in all our wins. The fact is this team isn’t struggling. Yes, we sucked against Creighton but really good teams struggle every so often. A fan base less spoiled would have tried to generate the emotion to pull us through against Creighton anyway, not be calm because we fell flat on our face for really the first time all year.

No argument there
