Sucks to have such high expectations and realize early that we aren't anything like we thought we would be. Most glaring problem is we don't have a point guard. Gibbs clearly isn't a point guard and outside of shooting he is a liability, he can't guard anyone. Don't want to single him out because everyone looks lost, not seeing any toughness from anyone. We have struggled on offense in a lot of seasons but we always played defense, this group doesn't play any defense. No good takeaways, Ollie has his hands full.

No one is done rooting for this team for sake, just that everyone is slowly and painfully recalibrating expectations. Why is it whenever something critical is said by anyone here everyone starts acting like that person just tore up and torched their "UConn fan card"? Its so hyperbole and just as reactionary as those saying fire Ollie but on the opposite end of the spectrum.

They literally haven't lost the game yet.

Even if they miraculously win, it doesnt erase the SERIOUS problems this team has.

A measured assessment after the game surely considers the entirety of it. We know this team starts slowly, and suddenly people are saying we're NIT bound.

They fought back. Just can't spot a top 10 team a 20 pt lead. The offense needs to flow through Hamilton then Purvis. I think Gibbs is a bit selfish at times. Ollie loves the small lineup but Brimah is the only guy who keeps teams from running a layup line during games. Need him in there. This team will peak late in the year. They're talented, but the 3 newcomers are still learning each other and the rest of the team. We will get better.

Update: Gibbs got be at a few times, so did DHam and everyone else that guarded Sulaimon and Trimble!

Jalen was great vs Trimble but even he got taken a couple times. Our defense was swiss cheese on help defense we suck there period. No reactions off the ball EVERYONE on that team pretty much blows on help defense. But I love the pile on Gibbs when he really wasn't that bad after the 1st 5 minutes of the game when everyone else sucked too.

This place has some real treats who visit after losses.

Adams plays like a freshman but he's going to need to mature and be the point guard if this team is ever to reach their ceiling. Gibbs is in his 5th year and he is what he is, a shooter and not a point guard.

We need a big man that can bang, rebound and shoot. We lost that when we missed on stone. Hopefully someone steps up a and they find chemistry. Can't give teams huge leads and expect to pull out consistent wins or even win at all.

All these good p5 teams have bigs who can grab offensive boards and put back 2nd chance points. We dont. We shoot then leak back on D.

Facey didn't see enough time #1. Miller was solid but slow to return to his guy off a pick on a big play inside 4 minutes. Didn't think he went over the back but outfought Carter for the board and put back awful call. Not as bad as the one on Jalen but still huge.

Brimah was excellent on the D end most all night, but he allows the other team to play 5 on 4 defense on the offensive end totally worthless - can't score, can't offensive rebound.. Tough to take him out, tough to leave him in. :eek:Need to be ready for offense defense whenever possible down the stretch with this team.

Agree on Gibbs. He is a 2 trying to play PG. Still want to see Gibbs in the rotation just not running the offense. Adams has to be the PG with relief from Gibbs when he isn't playing off the ball. Put the ball in Adams hands and live with some mistakes.

Gibbs had an awful start, terrible. So did many others in that jersey yet he's the guy? Thought he was pretty good after that, not great, not a great PG but not bad vs a player like Trimble. Not sure what everyone watched? I would love for Jalen to be the guy and he's damn close but the 2 of them in together is even better. Needed them both there with Purvis on offense late. Unfortunately AB made some nice plays on the defensive end and forced KO to keep him there. But again, our people have no room on offense with a big who they don't even bother guarding and never picks anyone.

Almost like watching Gonzaga game all over again. Down 20, switch to Adams at point, claw to only 3 down. I think we all agree Gibbs is a 2 and Adams needs to be in more. It shouldn't be taking KO 30 minutes to make this adjustment. KO's teams always fight and make it close but 20 point deficits are concerning. Why is team coming out so soft and flat 2 games in a row against two biggest out of conference opponents, on national TV? Good to see KO finally lose it with refs but brutal timing. Absolutely need more offensively and on the boards from the 5 spot. Stone outscored Amida 16-2!

Watch Gibbs on the defensive end, he's just as bad as Brimah is on the offensive end. I'm not saying don't play him, he's our best shooter but Adams needs to be the point for us to go anywhere.

At this point, Gibbs needs to be treated as a good spot up 3pt shooter, nothing more. Unfortunately our offense hasnt grasped the concept of penetration and kick outs or even creating good shots for others yet so the point is moot.

He is but so is DHam who gets burnt more than anyone here cares to admit. May be the worst off the ball too never mind on it. Well besides AB. But guarding Trimble isn't happening all that often. I get we are used to Ricky Moore, Kemba, Ryan B on D but not everyone will be that. He's still a good player and played okay today, others played much worst.
