We should recruit DeVon Jones from Winter Haven, Fl

I saw him play last week for the first time. He's a 6'6 combo guard built like Lamb with a 7 ft wingspan. His stock is just starting to take off as the SEC schools have come on board. He's ranked outside the top 100 for reasons unknown to me. IMHO he will be a big time-NBA caliber player. Good outside shooter,real athletic getting to the rim, great defender. I don't follow recruiting closely and don't know what we are looking for but this kid would be an impact player and a classic under the radar JC recruit.

Winter Haven high the same school as Tiffany Hayes.

I am gonna assume you mean DeVon Walker, not DeVon Jones.

Jones was a player in Florida five or six years ago.

Walker is or was committed to UCF at some point.

He is out of his UCF commit and visting Bama this weekend. He would be a matchup nightmare as a point guard.

The only other local player I thought could be an impact player at Uconn who was not highly rated was Dominque Jones from Lake Wales. he had a great freshman year at USF and now rides the bench for the Mavs.

Is he really a PG tho? You dont see very much ball handling in the video. He has talent tho, I just think in college he is more of a 3 than a 1.

Yeah he was the primary ballhandler for his HS team. Thats a summer AAU tape so its a bit unorganized, SG would be his best college postion. He reminds me of Penny Hardaway a bit. His defense on the wing is great.

I think he could be a nice fit. however if his handle is at all shaky we couldn't add him with Daniels Giffey and Roscoe already on the roster.
