Canada has access to these Chinese cars. They seem pretty amazing compared to what the US is putting out.

Thoughts?

I'll say this. The group I work with does some work in Europe. One of my guys just flew over on Thursday. We were told this week to make sure he doesn't get a Chinese rental Car because those cars aren't allowed near the client's buildings.

So you're saying that in addition to all the amazing things they already do, they can also hack into your systems if parked close enough?

Here's the thing with Chinese cars.....safety is not high on their priority list and they've effectively subsidized by the government so they will crush Canadian competition on price. I don't think the Canadian government is very good, but this is like pointing a gun at their own auto industry.

That aside....I was in the Caucasus this past summer. They have incredibly liberal auto import regulations, so everything goes - really nice cars all over the place and some of them are Chinese EVs.

Some of them are flat out stunning. They're all clear rip offs of other cars - my personal favorite was a rip off of a Porsche Taycan called a Zeekr 001. God knows what the quality is like, but it's like 1/4th the cost of the original.
