This Thursday 6:00 p.m. the dirty t will be rocking as the1.2 million dollar coach has an opportunity to get revenge against Loree Payne and her squad. Last year Barnes brought the team up to Flagstaff and they were pounded by The Lumberjacks.

Some really fine teams playing in this tournament as the kitties are poised to stagger into a 20 win season.

I think it's great that UNLV, Gonzaga, Wyoming, middle tennessee, and James Madison get to continue their season. No Colorado Rams in sight so maybe Emma and Hannah have played their final game together.

Well this is an outstanding tournament it is the result of monopoly actions and abusive power by the NCAA.

See below

The WBIT is a brand-new event in 2024, and is wholly owned by the NCAA just as they own the NIT for men’s basketball after a forced sale under pressure from federal courts in 2005. But the NCAA continues to not own the rights to the WNIT, so they created an alternative postseason invitational tournament which they’ll own fully and will be able to keep all the revenue.

The NCAA claims this “ensures the NCAA is providing equitable postseason opportunities for women’s basketball similar to that of men’s basketball,” and the fact no one else will keep the money as TV ratings for women’s basketball continue to skyrocket is just a coincidence. Also the WNIT, an event with a history dating back to 1969, isn’t mentioned at all in any NCAA official materials.

The WNIT - struggles to hold on in the face of their behemoth competitor and would be destroyer. There are some teams that definitely deserve the chance to continue to play and it certainly will be interesting how long they survive as the Jack boot of the NCAA continues to stomp up and down.

Bracket-2025 WNIT Bracket (PDF) - WNIT Pre and Post Tournament

I opener and worth a laugh that the Scarlet knights get a buy into the second round with their 11-19 record.

Interesting brackets, 3 teams from the Big East and all on the same side.
Is this by design, not having teams from the same conference in the title game????
FWIW I know nothing about the rules regarding the WBIT.

Colorado has one of the #1 seeds in the WBIT. You must have overlooked it. The "first four out" got the #1 seeds, by rule.

Yes, Rutgers in the post-season with 11 wins is hard to swallow. They are the only team from a P4 in the WNIT which speaks to what a poor 3rd ranked tourney it has become. There were over 10 P4 teams with better records not there, I don't know how many might have declined? As I noted on the Rutgers board, however, none of their losses are to the level of competition they will be facing, their 2 non-P4 losses were to Marquette in the BE (and WBIT) and Princeton, which is dancing. I don't know what that means, just commenting.

A lot of matchups are between teams that are near each other, at least relatively. Seems like they're trying to keep travel costs down.

Hannah and Emma hooped for the Rams home games in Fort Collins. The buffs entertain the Boulder community with Prime Time and Frieda Foremann.......

Be interesting to see who advances.....

Drake led most of the way but Marquette overtook them at the end, 74-69. Dinnebier's college career has come to an end. Too bad. I really hope she catches on with a WNBA team. She went out w/ 25 points.

Whole bunch of games today.

Seton Hall 57
Quinnipiac 40

Villanova 76
Boston College 70

St. Joe's 69
Albany 40

James Madison 77
Davidson 50

Minnesota 65
Toledo 53

Florida 83
Northern Iowa 71

Belmont 64
Middle Tennessee 51

Missouri St. 107
Oral Roberts 76

Lots of blowouts. Home team has won all but 1 game so far (Marquette the exception).

Colorado 73
SE Louisiana 41 (wow!)

Texas Tech 65
Wyoming 48

Northern Arizona 71
Arizona 69 (capped off an 0-3 record against non P4 instate schools)

Gonzaga 67
UTSA 51

More lopsided wins. Couple more road wins, Texas Tech and No. Arizona.

2 more games still in progress, home team up double digits in Q4.

Gonzaga 67
UTSA 51
I'm gonna go ahead and guess this was Jordyn Jenkins' first game back in her home state in 3 years, since leaving USC. I will never understand that move. Ejim did her thing w/ 24 pts (10-15 FG)/16 reb/7 steals.

Not gonna start another thread. The WNIT had to dig pretty deep to find enough teams for their field. But it is a relief to see that both Lindenwood and Longwood got to participate in the post season. I really can't even keep track of some of these D1 schools any more.

edit--and another of my favorite non P4 players got to extend her season; Megan McConnell had a big game and Duequesne edged the aforementioned Longwood by 2.

Eagerly awaiting @azfan 's incisive commentary on this one
Just got home and I'm on cloud nine. So much of a bummer I couldn't go down for the game. By all appearances there was a great duel between Big Sky player of the Year Sophie Glancy and Brea Cunningham, each with double doubles and as I had mentioned in a previous post Taylor Feldman bounced back from a horrible game in the loss to Montana.

@KnightBridgeAZ was correct only 2,700 people in the house to see Loree Payne lead her squad to their 27th victory and the fashionista coach left to take solace in her 1.2 million salary and 19 wins this year.

NAU put 92 on the kitties back in November and as we all recall Grand Canyon went down and put a load of hurt on the kitties in McKale the following month. Just as I enjoyed every second of those two games I know I would have been exceedingly delirious that I've been able to sit in the empty dirty t McKale arena.

Who ever imagined I'd be saying that the Jacks will be facing a much bigger challenge against Belmont then they did against the floundering kitties.

Speaking of the Lopes and Molly Miller on the way home tonight I heard some draft prognosticators talking about their method for picking teams. One of the talking heads said that he used number of seniors on the team and had Grand Canyon beating Baylor.

At least I'll get to listen to the game live tomorrow between Grand Canyon and the Bears.

Fans are ready for a change at Arizona. Something is up, Adia was tearing up and getting hugs. Could she have been told she had to win to get an extension? Or does she know she is leaving for greener pastures?

Some great individual performances. Swann is a keeper.
