This is THREE 1st Team All-Americans from the same recruiting class, not just the same team. I think it's unprecedented.

In any case, Geno, CD, et al. did a great job of recruiting and coaching these guys up.
Awesome catch, Milford. I've done a little research and believe you're right. Because I knew that UConn had placed three players on the WBCA All-America team a few times before, I think I failed to realize just how rare a feat this was. Unless I missed one, here's a list of every time one school has had three representatives since the Kodak/State Farm/WBCA All-America Team's inception in 1975:

1999: Tennessee (Catchings, Holdsclaw, Randall)

2oo2: UConn (Bird, Cash, Taurasi)

2009: UConn (Charles, Montgomery, Moore)

2014: UConn (Dolson, Hartley, Stewart)

2015: UConn (Jefferson, Mosqueda-Lewis, Stewart)

2016: UConn (Jefferson, Stewart, Tuck)

List of past WBCA All-America Teams

Of those six groups, this year's is the only one that contains three members of the same recruiting class. So you're right, this is unprecedented.

I have been traveling and am late on the draw here!!!

Morgan, I don't remember the last time I was this proud!!!! Congratulations to you and your teammates who assisted in this...... You are such an invaluable part of the Huskie's success, and it would have sucked to not have you celebrated on the wall at Gampel.....

You are so so so deserving and I am thrilled for you and Husky Nation to be able to share your joy.

I put together a crazy color coded spreadsheet of AAs, and the Final Four teams. I will not update it until after the national championship. It's all about the mojo.

Hopefully Mo ends up getting MOP at the final 4 this year and shows all the other schools who claim to have the best point guard just how that position is played. Also would mean that Uconn must have gotten number 11 since a Uconn player won the award.Go Mo and Go Huskies.

We had to graduate a great one (KML) to finally get an injustice taken care of. This is the happiest thing that could happen to UConn as far as I am concerned, short of the 4pest honor, because that badge, should it be pressed, will be worn forever by 3 great seniors.

Tuck earned this honor and the UConn family should be proud of her accomplishments. The list is pretty solid, but I do think Rachel Banham (sp) should have made the team. While Brianna Turner is exceptional, she or Jamie Weisner would not be ahead of Banham in my book. Mitchell had a good season but Aja Wilson took center stage (rightfully so) and SC just wasn't dominant enough to get 2 players in.

I've posted earlier this is UConn's year/era so sit back and enjoy Huskies. Your product is superior to everyone else and I am 99.999% sure you will win another title. Enjoy and congratulations.

A highly notable omission from the WBCA list is Rachel Banham.
Yeah, well she is a great scorer, but I am glad that they recognized some others who maybe didn't score as much but performed very well on better teams.

So how long does it take to make one of those banners? Could they have it made and put up by the time the team gets back from Indy?

I was also glad to see Courtney Williams recognized rather than Tiffany Mitchell. I thought she really deserved it!

They'll BOTH go in the first round of the draft. I predict Williams will go first.

Yes. The team won't get back until Wednesday. That gives them 4 days to have it made, and hang it (people work on Saturdays & Sundays). That's plenty of time for something as important to so many people as this.

Her number will be hanging on the wall when they return. Bank on it!!!

Nice. I hope they put it between KML and Mo's banner that way their numbers are in order.

I concur with Gus Mahler: "I hope they will put her banner next to Mo and Stewie and before CD, so the trio are together there forever". They came in together, they can stay together...........Always.
During future first nights, and basketball reunions in the future, these 3 will ALWAYS be the most celebrated class in UConn lore. Because they won 4! Their record can only be tied, it can NEVER be broken.

We're watching history in the making. This is no doubt is one of those immortal records (DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak, Cal Ripken's 2,632 consecutive games played streak or Johhny Vander Meer's record of being the only pitcher in Major League Baseball history to throw two consecutive no-hitters), that will stand the test of time .

Its not often you are able to see history made right in front of you, and realize the novelty of what you're watching. This record will stand at least the rest of our life times, and well beyond. UConn and Tennessee (96-98) are the only Division 1 programs that has won 3 NC's in a row. Of course UConn has done it twice. No other programs can seem to do it. Only Baylor, USC, Stanford and Louisiana Tech have two.
