Washington Mystics @ Seattle Storm game 1

It's on ESPNews again, but....there's a local sub channel here in the Seattle area called JoeTV. I didn't think I have that channel, but I do. The game is also on that channel, so I'm in business, no messing around with streaming.
 
Loyd has been getting plenty of criticism, but she opened the game w/ a beautiful dish to Howard for a layup and then got a steal on the other end. Good start for her.
 
Howard has been really active so far, scoring, rebounding, a blocked shot. 6 of Seattle's 10 points. Storm leading by 3 w/ 5:25 left in Q1.
 
Wow, this is the 4th year in a row Howard has been in the Finals! Indiana, 2 years w/ Minnesota, now Seattle. She looks great, 8 points now. She has to be ecstatic she's not matched up w/ Griner (or anyone remotely similar) in this series.
 
Howard and Clark have combined for 14 of Seattle's 18 points. Storm up 18-11. So far the superstars aren't having much impact for either team.

Ok, I'll keep you company. Seattle is being effective on defense and getting out in transition. 22-11.

She learned from Rebekkah Brunson, the all-time leading rebounder.

Howard is just killing it. 10 points 4-4 from the floor 3 rebounds.

24-13 after Q1. Some really sloppy TO's by the Mystics that the Storm turned into easy buckets.
 
All the Storm starters have scored, led by Howard with 10.

Delle Donne is 1-5 from the floor and Stewie 0-3. It's early, but this big showdown may not live up to the billing.
 
Seattle has 4 subs in, Clark is the only starter on the floor. There's been a Courtney Paris sighting. Weird lineup.

I think they will both get theirs. The nice thing especially for Seattle is that everyone else is playing well and scoring. If it were all up to Sue and Stewie, it would be much harder...
 
Now 5 subs on the floor. Seattle has a big lead but I think this is a bad decision by the coach.

Now Stewie is back in the game.
 
Seattle lost a little momentum, but Whitcomb has scored 5 in a row for them to get them going again. Starters are set to check back in.

Loyd has hit 3 straight since she re-entered the game. Now leading all scorers w/ 11 points.

Trading 2s for 3s isn't going to work very well for the Mystics when they are trailing. 46-32 Seattle, Stewie shooting a pair of FTs.
 
Coach Mike told the Mystics they can't be casual, but they have been. And they are down 48-32.

Howard carried them in Q1, Jewell carried them in Q2.

The best 3-point shooting team in the W is looking like it.
