I'm too late to vote but ...

I want Atlanta and Tiff. I think Washington with Elena is too much, however, even on the road.

If Atlanta gets tot he finals without Angel, it would be one heck of an accomplishment. Washington's the better team, they can score from anywhere on the court and they defend. Washington moves on.

I voted Mystics because Atlanta has no answer to EDD (even at 80%) and Atlanta is too Jekyll - Hyde as much as it hurts to say it. Renee / Tiffany will need their A+ games imho.

I don't see Atlanta's offense as reliable. They need to play their best defense.

16-8 early. Mystics look sharp. Atkins is making a difference, and KT hit from 25'.

.-.
Dream righting the ship. Now up 1 on Renee jumper

Good, close game right now. They traded buckets about 8 possessions in a row.

Atlanta has left KT open too often. She just drilled a 2 and a 3 from the right corner. She has 15 before halftime.

Mystics are up 6. EDD takes a 3 too early. Renee gets it with 6 seconds left, dribbles downcourt, and nails a 3. Pure Badass!!!

These refs really are not here for the Dream's flops. I love it.

Finally a ref calling an offensive foul on the "lean in while taking a 3" gimmick.

Atlanta's aggressiveness bit them in the but tonight. All of Montgomery's offensive fouls have been legit. Atkins has carried Washington with her hustle, O boards, and free throws. However, Atlanta can still win because of the 5 second call.

It's one thing to lean in to draw the foul. Its another thing to shoulder the defender in the face and throw up the ball that doesn't even look like a shot.

That charge call on Renee was one of the worst I've ever seen. In all the years I've been watching the game when the shooter leans in either they get the call or it's a no call.
But an offensive foul? Brutal call.

Hawkins, Atkins, and Toliver carried the Mystics. They won by 5. A flagrant foul on Williams was a big key late in the 4th.

Yeah, I never see it called that way.

So do we give Karen Aston credit for preparing Atkins so well for the pros or demerits for not making better use of her at Texas?

Or both?

Similar for DeShields at Tennessee?

Congratulations to the one voter that had it right. If McCoughtry does not get injured, and plays the postseason, the Dream win this series against the Mystics. If Delle Donne doesn't play tonight, they lose.

When McCoughtry went down, the Dream's post season hopes went down with her. Good 5 game series. Anyone that likes the W, enjoyed this game.

Good ballplayers become even better ballplayers when surrounded by talented teammates. Not a very profound pronouncement, but such is the case with Ms Atkins. She is incredibly talented and fits seamlessly with the Mystics. She is the difference/difference maker for Washington this season. She is to this Mystics team what Nykesha Sales was to the 1995 undefeated magical Huskies.

I live here in Atlanta and watched on TV. I've not watched the WNBA in a few years but decided to watch a few games over the past few weeks since it was such a competitive season. The Dream and Mystics didn't disappoint. EDD wasn't herself but played a good game overall. Toliver has always been hot and cold with me but she was solid. Atkins sealed the win for them last night.

Thibault and Collen are both terrific coaches who have done great work with their rosters. It seemed to me a few years back that WNBA franchises weren't really making good coaching decisions and it was harming the quality of play. Those two last night, plus Miller at Connecticut, have shown how cohesive teams can be difficult to defeat many nights.

My hats off to both franchises.

If you liked the 1st game, you should have gone gaga over the second??

By the way, maybe some votes for Sue Bird as Coach of the Year? ;)

Five years ago, I found half of the teams to be unwatchable. The offenses, in particular, were not very good. It was a huge step down from watching the UConn women. Now, the level of play is much better, and the games are exciting. This is a really good product now.

Totally agree. There are relatively few WNBA games that are not fun to watch for me or at least have players who I take interest in. I hope the best kept secret in America leaks out.
