Most of those 11 completions were at or behind the line of scrimmage (just three passes were completed 10 or more yards down field) as evidenced by the team's average yards per pass being below 5 yards... one was a batted ball that the receiver made a diving catch on for an 11 yard loss. UConn had negative passing yards until there was just over 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. He had 3 balls batted due to his throwing motion coming from a 3/4 - sidearm slot.
It wasn't good QB play, through no fault of Farrar's; he simply wasn't ready, but had to answer the call (and not having Bell to potentially break some of those short bubble screens as he did throughout the season didn't help). Now we move forward into the Candle era and hopefully Candle can take some of what he saw in the game and through the practices into creating the shopping list for the portal.
