What makes harping is coming to UConn? Every school in the country will want her as their point guard. If that's the actual choice? Absolutely.

Or maybe a decision has been made but just not announced publicly. She could still be in LA but if she has decided to come to UConn, she may want to announce or have UConn announce once she returns home to NY.I would imagine she comes to a decision soon. Since summer semester starts in a few weeks
That is a one-way street governing the school, not the kid. The NCAA has absolutely no authority over HS kids. If someone tried to prohibit my kid from visiting a school or corresponding with whoever she so chooses, I would be in a lawyer's office immediately.
I love people like this. They end up giving lawyers money for no real purpose. That is a one-way street governing the school, not the kid. The NCAA has absolutely no authority over HS kids. How do you know what she wants?I might be in the minority, but I don't believe Heckel is coming to UCONN. She wants to start and that will not happen at UCONN. It is my belief that she is going to ND and that is just fine with me because I much rather have Kate Harping from the 2026 class.

Even as a general statement, he will be correct 99.9% of the time. What person playing a team sport doesn't want to start? You don't have to have first hand knowledge of something to know it to be true, or to be 99.9% true.
The game at the top level had changed. The best teams are stacked with recruits and portal players. I think minutes are the new metric, lineups are going to be flexible to maximize team play. It has already happened at UCONN and SC. Geno is really good at this new element of the game. Why do you do this? It serves not purpose.

If we're running with the hypothesis (unsubstantiated, mind you, but a hypothesis nonetheless) that she won't announce until she's taken final exams at USC, her exam week just began today (May 7-14):Do you know what she's doing? Is she visiting other schools? Doesn't she know that she's holding up a half dozen future starting five threads? Sure, it's an important decision andher life, but it's the summer and we need things to talk about!
Some are more concerned about being contributer more than a starter. If the common goal is to win, players find ways to make their impact even if they're not a starter. There are too many examples out there that prove this point. Why do you do this? It serves not purpose.

So it seems the schools interested in Heckel will not hear anything until after May 14…just another week.If we're running with the hypothesis (unsubstantiated, mind you, but a hypothesis nonetheless) that she won't announce until she's taken final exams at USC, her exam week just began today (May 7-14):

You are assuming that professors or their TA’s will grade finals immediately? So it seems the schools interested in Heckel will not hear anything until after May 14…just another week.

I don't know the nuances of this, but it seems to me that there's no particular reason for Kayleigh to wait for final grades, or even for the exams, if she doesn't want to. Her classmates didn't wait for exams or grades. The fact is, she's already entered the portal and is on the way to some other destination, whether it's been determined yet or not. If she's really nervous about her grades, I can see taking one's time about deciding on the destination school. But this would be a problem for her even if she somehow decided to stay at USC. I think athletic scholarships come with a minimum grade requirement even apart from questions about portal rules. I think it's a 2.3 GPA. I'd be really surprised if grades are an issue for her. I think that the idea of "winning" > "starting"People can prioritize winning over starting.
Let's enjoy Sarah Strong..........best all-around player in the country. PB deserved all the attention she received but SS was the primary differentiator this year. As you said, she was able to do anything that was required to win on the court.I can see Geno moving Sarah Strong to the 3, maybe point forward. Similar to DT, I suspect she will be moved around the floor as needed. Where ever she plays, she won’t be coming off the floor much until the game has been decided.
I don't, but like everyone else I'm making an educated guess! How do you know what she wants?
Bone Dog- - - IMHO Kayleigh, who is an honor student, wants to get her finals squared away before all the hoopla hits the fan with her transfer news!I don't know the nuances of this, but it seems to me that there's no particular reason for Kayleigh to wait for final grades, or even for the exams, if she doesn't want to. What all this says to me is that she's taking her time, maybe because of grade anxiety, maybe because she's simply frazzled by the end of semester noise, maybe she's the type of kid who likes to get all her ducks in a row (classic PG-style thinking), or maybe she just wants to spend a few days at home with her parents after the exams are over to talk it all out.
If by any chance she's already made up her mind, I suspect Geno already knows what she's going to decide. Probably Niele and Shea do too. I doubt any of them would pull a Mulkey and try to force her hand with a premature hint. But maybe she hasn't made up her mind. Who knows?

I would guess she'd want to get the best grades possible to eliminate any questions in the grades switch!
As she was there when Serah Williams was, she also saw UConn in the same light Serah did so I would feel she is leaning toward UConn! But then again I have to look at my Drivers License each morning to remember who I am!
Do you think this thread can get over 100,000 views? What is the record for thread views anyway? Asking for a friend of course...This thread is like a lame horse - it needs a humane ending.
