This is the final tune up prior to the ND game For the reasons you have stated above which are extensive and detailed, well done! 73-43 It could be closer as WV is a defensive team, 3rd to our being 1st in pts given up per game and fg%! As you stated it will be our plethora of guards who dictate the game.CD,Bria,KML,Kelly,Tiffany! 3 other thoughts! If we do get pts from Stef, dictate the tempo, and a Big 3rd part. The team, Stokes and Bank had gotten a lashing from Geno.Kelly, Stef, and another member came forward to agree with Geno! Stokes spoke and agreed re her own responsibility.Their practice in recent days has been much improved! This could be a fired up team! If this happens we could see some exciting play from FRs to SR.WVU has given up over 61 points only once - to Syracuse in a very close 76-72 victory. they have a good win over UCLA but have losses to Duquesne, St. Bonny, and CSU Northridge. they've certainly shown they can put points on the board averaging just over 78 PPG in their wins, but only averaging 50 in their losses. Frankly i think UCONN's defense is better than the 3 losses i mentioned above where they scored 48,47, and 55.
based on the numbers alone, i have to believe our defense is better than anything they faced and i have a hard time imagining they score much over 40. their leading scorer jacks up over 8 3-point shots per game, but a team who has Busie and Dunning in the post seems like they should be better than the team who lost to the 3 teams i mentioned. i think they have enough talent to play UCONN tough for stretches, but all it takes is 2-3 minutes for UCONN to slap a 10-0 run on someone.
i think UCONN really came out firing on most cylinders well vs. Fairfield. i think WVU's defense holds us in the low 80's, but just can't see them scoring much over 40. if Syracuse can put up 72 points on them, i think we can be at least 10 points better. i think Stef has a much harder time scoring against Dunning and Busie. it will be up to our guards to hit shots.
UCONN 83
WVU 41
