Here is my take. The first half the team started slow. I think some of that had to do with all the fouls called. Second half looked more of what I expected. Carter was key in starting the 14-0 run to start 2nd half. The team may not have played as good as they can. Still come out of there with a win.
It wasn't the fouls "called" that were the problem but rather the fouls "committed". Don't blame the refs. Every coach got the memo. Over on the other board the thinking was that Tenn would benefit from the new rule interpretations. Tenn has always been a program that favored physical domination over finesse. All those reach-ins are now fouls instead of steals.
Good luck at Chapel Hill. At MTSU the refs only called a 5th on Harrison but 5 others had 4 with 5 minutes left. I don't think they will be as nice in NC
