I must have not gotten the memo that we were still in the Big East. 22-6 from a mid-major is NOT a lock.

UConn has a 29 RPI ranking now. A loss last night, and we would be 35 or worse. UConn has at least 3 games left against Top 50 opponents, and UConn would be well served to win at least 1 of those games.
Mid Major talk is crap - look at the top 30 teams
Also the conference power index has the AAC in #2
If you want to consider it a mid major - fine but a team with at worst a 22-10 record and rpi where UConn will be is not a bubble this year
The seeding will suck but you get what you deserve and need to win to advance - like everyone else.

Nothing about this post makes sense.
-The AAC is better than the Big East this year
-The AAC is not a mid-major conference this year (Next year it will be)
-We're in even if we lose 3 out of 4

OK we're gonna make it but look deeper into our record and see that teams with worse records in "weaker conferences" seem better than we are. Close losses against quality opponents have to count for something at least in the eye test. Both Pitt and St. Johns fall in to that category. Quality wins are Memphis and Florida and 2 of those 3 could have gone either way. We have a chance to change that soon, but there's no mistaking that we have been crap lately and Bazz pulled our fat out of the fire by himself last night.

If you're going to make "could've gone either way" one of your criteria we might as well just blow up the system. No one either blows everyone out or vice versa every game. Close wins are wins.
By the way, do we not play like this at South Florida every year? We lost there last year, needed Austrie's miracle a few years back -- we don't do well there, ever.

Defensively I'm happy with what I see but to be at this point in the season and to see such inept offensive sets 80% ending with our small guards trying to force themselves... Do we have a set rotation by this time? It's still in flux and it's late. I do understand it is what it is but if you start at the Florida game you would normally hope for improvement, progress. Our record suggests a very very good team.

The NCAA Tournament selection committee doesn't look at close losses or close wins. They look at wins and losses. Period. If they had to dig into every game every team played they'd be there for a month trying to figure out the brackets!

When one of the lynchpins of an argument is "If UConn lost last night..." when they actually won the game, then you're not building a strong case.
