I get what your saying but it hasn't stopped Memphis playing neck and neck with UCLA, or Northern Illinois beating Nebraska or Airforce playing neck nd neck with Michigan.

Memphis recruits in SEC territory, the academies (well, Army in alternating centuries) are regularly tough outs with highly disciplined, tough and motivated players, and somehow NIU has captured lightning in a bottle, though recruiting in BiG territory probably helps.

I put this squarely on Bobby Fiasco...other than the D which is an abomination IMO. It's a gimmick that appears not to hold up in big boy football, let alone IAA. To much speed and no differential to leverage with 5 DBs covering and trying to do run support.

It's not drama. It's called a logical observation. The theory of the 3-3 relies on speed and deception to overcome bigger slower players. That differential closes at the D1 level. In FCS, you have generally very large players of a D1 caliber that are much slower. It doesn't appear to translate well.

yeah that's why most teams don't go to the nickel for the majority of games now. that definitely doesn't happen.
