Sanogo just had a bad game. I’m not sure why our 5th year 2021 6th Man of the year who hits clutch 3s doesn’t play til the game is over

Gillespie is very easy to hate. He’s good, but he’s smug and annoying and gets all the calls.

His first comment in that post game TV interview was about how good we are and how well coached we are. Seems like a really good kid tbh.

Just not enough shot making, period. They play hard, they play physical, they just aren't dynamic enough on the offensive end. Very difficult to win these games when you leave points off the board. Just get everyone ready to go for next week and see what the bracket looks like.

Give Nova credit and Jay wright for not giving Tyler Polley anything, because I thought Tyler was going to go off tonight as I watched his form shooting 3s in the first half. Usually Tyler goes into his shot by spreading his legs out and almost squatting, but when he goes straight up without jerking the ball, he's money. He looked like he was going to get in rhythm in the first half, and it never happened.

Definition of insane is doing the same thing but expecting a different result. playing Sanoga in second half was insane. He kills them. There’s a reason why the college games is ruled by guards.

also, sanogo had 15 and 13 -- even in his bad games, he is ridiculously productive.

He was 6-16 tonight, that's not really production it's volume.

What an atmosphere and the arena that we wanted to be playing in this time of year. But a tough loss.
Our offensive woes in the paint the second half really hurt our chance to get the win.

Time to regroup and make a run in the tourney. Dan Hurley will get the team ready for March Madness.

It's fool's gold.

15 points on 6-15 from the field (most within 5 feet) and 3-7 from the line is awful, horribly inefficient.

The 13 rebounds, good, but he also fumbled away the most important one.

Not terribly upset about what happened tonight. If we lose by 10 it's a totally different story, but we could have won. As many have said, Sanogo with a pretty brutal performance. Number of misses within 5 feet just unbelievable. But at the end of the day we've played wire to wire with a championship contender twice now. Little extra time to get some rest and get ready for the tourney.

25 seconds game clock, 20 seconds shot clock, nowhere near enough time to do anything.

We got killed when he went out. They scored on possession after possession. He shot awful but his D was pretty good.

It was a battle. Not our best game, but the guys left it all out there. Nothing more we can ask. On to the NCAAs. Let’s enjoy the fact that we aren’t a bubble team. That’s a nice feeling.

I wanted Polley in there but Wright was going at him on offense and he couldn't guard their guys. Whaley kept us in the game at the end with his defense. Hurley coached a very good game, we win if Sanogo dunks the ball.

I wondered the same thing. We just saw a team win the SoCon in a very similar situation. Not sure why we didn't just bank on playing tough D and then calling a timeout (we still had one left IIRC).
