Man, I love that my son plays college baseball, but I haven’t gone with my buddies to the BET, really wanted to go to Houston and now we’ll be on the road for the parade. He better realize what I’m missing! At least he picked up a W this weekend. Ha!

-> The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will step off from the State Capitol building at the intersection of Trinity Street and Elm Street. From there, it will proceed north on Trinity Street, go through the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Arch, turn right (east) onto Jewell Street, turn left (north) onto Trumbull Street, and end at the intersection of Asylum Street and Trumbull Street.

The rally will begin at approximately 12:00 p.m. and will be held outside of the main entrance of the XL Center on Trumbull Street, where the players, coaches, and other guests will be invited to give speeches. <-

I’m blowing off my knucklehead brother-in-law’s 50th birthday party in Boston for this. Can’t wait!

I wasn’t local for 1999 but have been to the other three.

I’m probably gonna camp out near XL so I can see the rally. Will be flying home from FL for it, I missed all previous parades so it’ll be a first for me.

Wish I could go but I pay my support by going to the Final Fours to see UCONN Win and then at the celebratory after party at the Husky hotel. I was in CT to see my mom for her 80th birthday in March and I feel I can only go back to CT only so much. I also have spent a load of money after changing my seats for the games from the 500 to 100 sections. LOL!

All the other parades I've been to have ended at the Capital. This year it's ending with a rally at the XL Center. Apropos, it's the building that made it all possible.

Just checked the schedule and there is a Yard Goats game at 1pm on Sat too. Hartford should be packed and rocking. I’m taking the train in and have lunch reservations made. Going to be a blast!

I'll be attending the Parade on Saturday. I'd like to stay in the city after and get lunch or have a beer or attend some fun gathering afterword. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any events planned?
