Victory Parade Thread (Saturday, April 8, 2023 @11:30a)

Bad timing for me. We had plans for the weekend, so I was hoping for next week. Oh well…no worries…I’ll just watch tape of it and live vicariously through those of you that are there! Go Huskies!

Just said on NBC: 'Shabazz Napier is the only husky to win 2 titles, the only one!' yikes

NBC30 also said this is the biggest crowd ever…I’m not there, but I’d think the year of the dual championships was bigger. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Channel 3 guy was the worst. He seemed clueless and kept talking about the certainty of our players leaving. I couldn't take it anymore. I went with WTIC.

It was a great parade similar to the previous ones ('99 was the longest)
and I watched it from Florida on Ch. 61 and Ch 8.
Fantastic !!!

It was great! The camera on the bus with players was great, and they seemed to be genuinely amped up over the crowd. They’ll never forget it.

I really think Donovan is the biggest/most popular Connecticut athlete ever. Most of the greatest all-time athletes from the state Steve Young, Dwight Freeney, Marcus Camby, Calvin Murphy, Brian Leetch, Jeff Bagwell etc. didn't go to UConn and guys like Chris Smith and Scott Burrell didn't cut down the nets.

There's just something about this kid with his great personality, personal story, always repping Connecticut, mammoth size, and awesome ability that makes him special. He wasn't scheduled to speak today and the crowd and his teammates weren't going to let him not speak. He got the biggest cheers out of anyone. There's much more special things ahead for Donovan next season and onward...
