LORD HAVE MERCY if that dunk went down.

reminded me of the Vince Carter from Ed Cota off the backboard missed dunk that blew the roof off of the Dean Dome. Oladipo has become a great player, wasn't a top 100 kid either(just like Burke).

People didn't think much of that recruiting class, but Vic and Will Sheehey became really good players, and neither were top 100. Crean can recruit, and I think he is getting much better at coaching.

Picked up this stat from Jay Bilas' twitter account:

In 45 possessions, guarding four different players, Oladipo gave up just four points tonight.

The kid is a defensive marvel. He's had 20 deflections at least two or three times this season.

He's been futzing around with a 2-3 this year, including using it for most of the game at Iowa. Tonight he finally got it right- they switched into it for part of the first ten minutes and Michigan couldn't figure it out. Helped IU get a big lead. He used it in spurts, instead of for long stretches.

Is what a 2-3 zone is good for- confusing teams for a short period of time before switching back to man, aka, real defense.

Hate to say this but he may be Ricky Mooore on "steroids" as far as defense.........unbelievable!

Its amazing what he has done there. 4 years ago they were 1-17 in the B1G. Now they are the best team in America. Cody Zeller is a big piece, but Crean has been excellent at recruiting and coaching up his role/secondary players.

And I know some people think we have it bad this year. But Indiana won 16 games its first two seasons under Crean. A little over half a season in and Ollie has gotten us 14. Two good coaches.

If he keeps it up, he might reach Lyman DePriest status...
