That's probably true, but with such a big family crowd--many of whom I imagine are not frequent attendees--on a holiday weekend afternoon, I think there is an opportunity for a well-prepared venue to capitalize on the attention and make a show of it. Especially so if they are trying to show themselves as a worthy alternative to the XL Center for a few games on a semi-regular basis and gain an upper hand on the casino in that competition.Even if students were there, or if it was held at Gampel, it wouldn't be rocking. It's UConn vs. Eastern Washington.
yes.Are tix still available?
Craigslist is your best bet. Looks like a few listings right now, including this one:The only seats available are $215 seats. Is there anywhere to go to find them cheaper?
It will be interesting. It will be a full house but I'm not expecting the building to rock because I don't expect the game to lend itself to much drama, and I don't expect many students to be there. You usually need at least one of those two to make for an electric game environment. I think there will be a lot of families and a lot of older people--kind of like a women's game crowd. The timing could not have been better for people to use this as a nice, novel holiday family event, and I think that's what a lot of the attendees will have in mind.

Not surprised, its a traffic jam for any concert. UConn will make demands that will be answered if Bridgeport wants to continue hosting a game. With that said the crowd turnout was as I expected, fully supportive (seat wise). A better/challenging opponent would makes things a little more noisy. The atmosphere was solid but it is like amateur hour here. The staff, parking, facilities, etc., are totally unprepared for 10,000 fans. Gampel looks like Grand Central compared to this.

The atmosphere inside was fine. The place was packed and fans wanted to be into the game. The sight lines are great and acoustics are great. A well played, competitive game would be loud.
What was not grata was the traffic coming in, it took me 22 minutes from exit off 95 to park my car. Absurd. And the concessions lines were so long you'd miss ten minutes of the game. Basically the place is not equipped to have 9k+ fans at this point. I left as game ended and still have yet to move in the parking garage.
