Vandy is gonna lose. Down 14 with 1:00 to go. Just goes to show you preseason rankings mean nothing- ours included.

I've been telling everyone Vandy is one of the most overrated teams I've seen in years in terms of preseason ranking. They are a veteran team and Jenkins is a good shooter, Ezeli is a pretty good big, Jeffrey Taylor is a good athlete at the wing but the point guard sucks and the team is as soft as Charmin. Cleveland State is a good team but Vandy is making them look like world beaters.

They played w/o Ezeli, but even as a complete team I'm not buying the Final 4 hype that I've seen some of the talking heads put on them. Are they forgetting that this is the same team that hasn't done in the tourney the last couple of years?

They seem to lose in the first round of the NCAAs every year:

2011: out Rd. 1 v. Richmond.
2010: out Rd. 1 v. Murray State
2009: No post season
2008: out Rd. 1. v. Sienna
2007: They lost to Georgetown in the Sweet 16 (a good game too).

Still, last 4 years, three NCAAs, each year a 4/5 seed, each year out in round 1.

Vandy to me is very overrated. However losses like these though can make a huge difference if responded to properly. Practically every athlete can remember an upset that questioned their team's spirit. UCLA is in a similar boat.

The bottom line "don't believe the hype".

Yeah I dont think Vandy is a top 10 team. Their wing Taylor I guess is supposedly a potential lottery pick. I dont see it. Vandy is a good team, but theyre not a definitive Top 10 team and those picking them to go to the Final Four are nuts.

Never quite bought into the Vandy hype. Seems like a classic case of "they were a decent team last year, and they return everybody, so this year they are going to be top ten". I just think the field is a lot tougher this season.

I was just going to say, I feel like Vandy is highly ranked at the start of each season but disappears come March. Thank you for confirming that!
