We need a good commish that will drive the Big East as the Holy Grail for basketball - and schools should be compensated appropriately.

He/She needs to prepare for the next phase of conference realignment and visualize what the conference could look like.

For me I’d love to see football just separate itself and the Big East capitalize on getting major basketball programs like the good ole days.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out...time to bring someone in with half a brain. UConn also needs to start pushing to keep the majority of their NCAA shares, because the rest of the conference just isn't cutting it. If we're taking a huge step down in media revenue, the least we can do is keep the $$ we have earned. Time to stop subsidizing this league.

LMAO. And our leverage for this kind of negotiation is what exactly? That if the league says no we’ll go to the A Ten? (That kind of statement is reminiscent of the scene in Blazing Saddles where Cleavon Little holds the gun to his own head and threatens to shoot himself if his enemies continue to want to kill him.)

The great irony is the inevitability of our departure means that we have absolutely zero leverage. The moment we get a P4 offer we're gone. There's nothing that Big East could do to keep us. Because that's true, why should they do anything for us at all?
 
Good riddance. This league needs someone that will come in and modernize the basketball product. The nostalgia for big east rock fights is a toxic one. It leads to a bad TV product and teams that struggle playing with non-conference refs. More freedom of movement, less of the garbage we’ve lived with for this long.
