I just figured out why we had to get rid of Weist.....his offense was too innovative and effective. If I hear one more person on TV say that we want to run the ball with some combination of....that's the Uconn identity...I'm just gonna turn the TV off.

We have no football identity right now...we don't have a defensive identity or offensive identity (at least not one that doesn't involve the word horrible added).

USF with Weist as co-offensive coordinator is averaging nearly 300 yards a game passing.....(they also run it for 250+ yards a game) and put up 55 pts a game. I can completely see why we didn't want him involved with the program.

I still have no idea why we let him go.....

Similar play to last week when RJ trucked the Navy defender and knocked his head off.

This week? RJ sees a hole and one man between him and the end zone and bolts outside.
 
Virginia sucks by the way. This isn't Alabama beating us like this.

At game. First time back since '09. Good halftime show. Great band! They played Star Wars intro song. Nice stadium atmosphere. Virginia looks pretty good! UC not ready to play.
 
Shirreffs has taken a huge beating all day so let's run a draw play 1 of the second half.

Still not using tight ends or screens in passing situations. Gave VA ALL DAY LONG by rushing 3 on 3rd and 15.

Come on coaches!
 
Entire sport is moving towards smaller/faster guys, we hire a dude who coaches like it's 1981.

That's generous. Even Bill Walsh was innovating in the 80's.

Most would say more like 1961, which is amazing because Diaco wasn't even born yet.

What in God's name was that third down play SUPPOSED to be?
 
Shirreffs is incapable of running and looking downfield.

Defenses know as soon as he leaves the pocket to break off receivers.
 
I don't mind running the ball if you can actually run the ball or if you play bend but don't break defense if you can do that, but if you don't have either...what is the point of doing them?

Offense is just brutal. This is a perfect storm of a horrible OL, scheme, playcalling, and lack of RB depth...Ron Johnson us killing this team with his poor running and blocking skills.
 
I really can't stand watching this dumpster fire much longer. Life is too short.
