Oh Bruce... I think the likes of the Netherlands, Wales, Scotland, Ukraine, and whichever 4 lose the UEFA play-off game would happily trade qualifying routes with the US.

I'll take the CONCACAF qualifying route over UEFA, CONMEBOL all day, every day. The US doesn't qualify for... what is it 6 or 7.. consecutive world cups if they are coming out of either of those confederations. Shoot, qualification for this world cup is not even close to a sure thing. I don't love the way things are lining up for the US tonight. Sloppy pitch, CONCACAF officiating, and Panama and Honduras both hosting teams that have nothing to play for. It's going to be a very interesting and intense night.

The point is that certain players belong in the Bundesliga and certain players that are not as talented or are mentally weak like Donovan don’t.

What a dumb comment. Even Poland would be salivating at the chance to go through concacaf, and I'm not exaggerating. Lewandoski would have 20 goals in 10 games...
 
you have got to be kidding me. US playing passive, sitting back. F'ng Gonzo with an own goal. And off the reset almost give up another one.... and Gonzo lucky to not get a red card and give up a PK moments later. They need to get it together quick.

On the upside, Mexico up 1-0 on Honduras

U-21? Is that even a thing by the way? You’re supposed to be an established pro by the time you turn 21. But congrats to the MLS English U-21 bench option and his big win over European big fish Andorra.

They are just standing around on offense and defense. Zero energy. It’s pathetic.

Gonzo needs to stay in the locker room, bring in Cameron.
Altidore can stay in the locker room, bring in Dempsey.
Save the final substitute for later in the half in case of an injury.
Arena can stay in the locker room too... in fact, when is the next flight off the island.

Arena has cost the US the first half and quite possibly a spot in the WC, depending on what happens with everyone else the rest of the way.

Why change your tactics four days after winning 4-0? Really, why? Because you want to see how bad Jozy can be as a left winger in a 4-3-3? You want Bradley to feel uncomfortable in a role that he doesn't often occupy or excel at?

God damn it, Bruce. God damn it. He had better make a formation change to start the second half or we're dead...
 
need dempsey to pull on a fulham shirt to get us out of this bind. some build up and service would help, too
