USMNT Columbia Friendly today 5:30

2-0 COl. U.S. BLOWS!! Thought Berhalter was gone???

This is some awful play by the US. Given the size of the WC bubble, I'd prefer not to see Johnny, Scally, CCV again. Richards is close too. Balogun isn't the answer at 9 either. Try someone else.

I haven't seen this many players get caught in possession in their own 3rd in a very long time.

GG better put his A team against Brazil.

Edit: 5-1 is about right based on the performance.

5-1. It may be just a friendly, but someone needs to be acountable for such $#i+ play.

.-.
A lot of work to be done.
The defensive transition from the midfield has been horrible
The defenders are not national players. It seemed like every Colombian goal came off a US defensive screw up.
The Colombians are extremely chippy. As Santos once said- if you play the Columbia’s be ready for a 90 minute mugging

Amazed at the size of the Colombian fan base. Those $2500 Visa cards being given out come in quite handy!!!

Worst exhibition of futebol I've seen by the USMNT for as long as I can remember. Nice job.

Oh my. They have to fire him now.

They have to. We can’t play another World Cup with him in charge.

.-.
Brazil said they're playing the A team against us next week. Buckle up

GB caught with his pants down again. Decided not to post the low lights. This was an embarrassment from start to finish.

Good.

We will flame out of the Grouo stage and Gregg will be out.

Probably end up in the USL.

I'm sure the us fed will schedule a couple games against Lichtenstein and Andorra to get ggg's win % back up after copa

To say they laid a major egg is an understatement. Way too many 2nd choice (or worse) starters. Too many guys still getting chances without the production to justify it. Worse, the defense was wildly unorganized. Everyone playing one v one regardless of what was happening around them.

Horrible giveaways aside, the lack of a plan is GG's responsibility.

... But they won the possession battle. That's a W in gregggg's book

Yeah, that's the worst they've looked in awhile. The passing was atrocious. Gave away the ball so many times. Actually lucky to only give up the 5.

Weah's goal was a nice sequence though. But much too little of that.

Just did not look good. And that was, for the most part, our "A" team. Or what we think our "A" team should be.

Columbia is playing in The Rent this Saturday.

USA gets Tyler Adams back for Brazil. He's a dog and what we need in the center of the park. He's been injured for much of the PL season so we'll see what he has in the tank for Brazil. We will need him on form in the tournament, but he's not going to solve the passing and spacing woes, and I think Brazil is just a bit better than Colombia

All of these shots ok goal haven’t been challenging the keeper.

And now the floodgate are open.

The hater in me says yet another dead ball goal. We don't score much during open play

Overall a fine first half. The build out of the back looks competent so far.

Well I think we looked better than against Colombia. 1-1 against Brazil isn't a bad result. Could have been about 4-3 or so except for some pretty good saves by Turner and Ederson.

Stats don't look as good though. Poss 61% to 39%. (but kinda knew it would tilt Brazil). We had 12/7 for shots. Which isn't bad against Brazil. But gave up 25/12 which isn't very good....against anyone.

It does help quite a bit when you don't pass the ball directly to the other team like we did against Colombia. Overall, better than 1st game, so at least headed in the right direction.

We have 11 days until we open against Bolivia. So we should be able to improve some. I'm assuming we'll play some "behind closed door scrimmage" between now and then. Hopefully anyway. Our schedule is good, Bolivia and then Panama before Uruguay. Hopefully both teams will be through and we can rest players before the knock out stage.

Knock out stage though, we'll probably be facing either Brazil or Colombia. Ugh.
