USF GAME THREAD

The envelope says--May a weird Yak visit your sister.

NO!!
I want to see a lot of the bench in the second half.
You can see a lot of the bench right after she scores her 47th point.

Katie Lou: now I am the best shooter in the country not the other Husky.

That was EPIC!! Anyone who finds fault with that half of basketball is out of their minds!

I hear ya. Wow. That was flawless basketball. The defensive rotations was text book. The offensive ball movement and hitting the open man..outstanding!!! But we know coach Auriemma will find something, as he should, to pick apart. But from my armchair, the ladies played excellent basketball on both ends of the floor.

We often say that absolutely everything has to go wrong in order for UConn to lose: an injured starter or two, really cold shooting, foul trouble, great shooting by the opponent, and uncooperative referees.

This first half shows what happens when absolutely everything goes right. Wow, wow wow!!!
Regardless, I think UCONN has already won this game.

I want to see Lou break Nakisha Sales' Record of 46. What a way to go into the tournament .
It'd be nice but what I liked is that none of her shots seemed forced and all were in the framework of the game. Can the Huskies continue to play with the same energy in the second half? The defense is really contributing a lot to their offensive production!

He's not satisfied???
I took it as an expression that there wasn't something eloquent what Lou did. That she was too aggressive with that big lead, or shot to early, or something.

Ouch. ESPN just showed a graphic about South Carolina's record vs the WCBB "Blue Bloods". UConn, Notre Dame, and Stanford. A certain school in Knoxville not included.

I am only saying this because I have thought it during last two USF vs UCONN games, USF has given up.

Well, may they keep it up. I'd like an equally enjoyable UConn ride through the 2d half, with all concerned healthy at the end. As to USF having given up, I suspect they are gassed and their attempt to muscle UConn in the first 5 minutes just accelerated that effect.

Lou: "I lova ya, Pheese...but I'm not letting you take over the team season scoring lead that easily." ;)

Incredible 1st half. In my score prediction I thought Lou would get 30... almost there already. Rest of my prediction coming true... more energy and focus at both ends. Sending a message to the other 63 teams in NCAA Tournament!!!!

I had the same thought

Did you folks already talk about what they said Geno said in practice today about Crystal, how she'll be the greatest point guard in WCBB over the next couple of years?

Anybody know what the record is for most 3's by the team in one game?

That was a terrible half-time report. Did their replay machine break?

Funny how the half time show is bending over backwards to discuss everything else but UConn with Rebecca at the game. Trying to give the impression that other teams are relevant.:confused::confused:

I think Katie Lou can get 47 tonight. She's got 29 at the half . She only need 18 more I think she can get it .
I was just rereading your post and the fact that you said KLS "only" needs 18 more in the second half to break Nykesha Sales record is, like WOW! 18 points is a lot of points for a game, much less for a half, though it's a bit easier to digest when you realize that KLS scored 29 points in the first half.

Really liked it when the camera caught Lou's little celebration move as she retreated after draining her 5th 3.

Very high praise from Geno. I was surprised he said all that really, unless Bob was just embellishing the story for dramatic effect.

Dang, I missed the 1st half. Looks like Samuelson is putting on quite a show!

Spoiler alert. With the talent she will have around her, and her incredible ability to pass the ball, Danger will break Mo's all-time UConn assist record.

Reminded me of Stef in the 2014 NC game vs. ND when she gave a similar expression like "I don't know what's going on tonight!"

I noticed that, as well. You would have thought that there would be a lot of conversation about the amazing first half for the team, with the great defensive intensity and shooting by the Huskies but particularly the shooting of KLS. None of that mentioned.
