USC Gamecocks - The Offseason 2025

If the Fulwiley to LSU rumors are true, I've got a weird feeling she'll be transferring again for her senior year...maybe back to South Carolina? Return of the prodigal daughter? For some reason I feel like this is a "see you soon" and not a "goodbye". I think Dawn would entertain a return after a year away from the program.

Agreed about only one year at LSU. She’ll find out what Van Lith found out… there’s only one ball, and a couple of All Americans who want it, too. Plus, Mulkey won’t tolerate ill-advised, spontaneous 3 point shots.

Bookmarking both of these posts as there's some potential truth to these thoughts.

I'm not necessarily aiming this response at you, but I do find it interesting that people seem unbothered with the idea of Mulkey having expectations for a player (and disciplining said player who isn't meeting them) but aren't okay with Dawn for having similar expectations (and holding players accountable). What am I missing?

I would hope that she wouldn't entertain this, especially if what's being said about the verbal altercation involving her mother is true. Let that ship sail off into the sunset.

Plus there’s the added lure of missing being around the girlfriend, assuming she stays and the two guard starting spot will re-open w/ Latson moving on.

You are presuming it doesn't work for her at LSU but she'd slide back into the starting lineup here? Not so sure.

I think the chapter is closed with finality.

Lord help us all if the corn dogs manage to beat us.

Fulwiley could not have picked a worse place to transfer to. Too many guards and a coach who is loyal only to herself. That will go south very quickly. I won't be pulling for Fulwiley or LSU. Dawn will always be there for Fulwiley because that's who she is.....but Fulwiley's days at South Carolina are done. I don't think Fulwiley's game will play in the WNBA. I see an overseas career in the future.

I feel the door is closed and think everyone just needs to move on. Both parties. I’m glad she’s committed and I hope she’s happy.
This! We need to do like the coaches and focus on the ones who actually want to be part of this team. It's a privilege that's not bestowed upon everyone.

Same. Let’s just move on. TBH Dawn is probably relieved she doesn’t have to deal with all the drama anymore. Grab ya popcorn. SEC is going to be must watch TV every night. It’s gonna be a gauntlet. SC, Texas, LSU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Alabama...Wow. I bet SC/LSU will be a 2 game set this year and Tenn will be paired with Texas.

And yeah, Fulwiley won’t be back in a SC uniform.

Alabama lost a lot of talent. I expect a drop off this season but I still agree with your overall premise.

I am happy with the Okot commitment.

I thought during the few occassions when Dawn was able to get good minutes from Tac that the forwards beside her looked so much more natural.

Granted they took the rest of the season figuring it out somewhat well, but this is a nice option.

I haven't watched her enough to really know where she is as a player and talent. Maybe there is untapped potential beyond the very impressive college debut.

I saw enough to know she's maybe not an automatic bucket, but she's far from unskilled offensively.

Can she close the paint? Can she be run off the floor? I don't know.

I know that I expected an easier transition for Dauda, so not sure exactly what to expect.
Regarding M Okot, as a Mississippi State fan I was sick to my stomach to lose her. She had been trying to get a visa for at least a couple of years and arrived at MSU in late summer. However she picked up on the offensive and defensive incredibly quickly and showed more consistent flashes of talent as the season progressed. I was looking forward to seeing her after an offseason in the weight room and individual skill work. She does an incredible job of denying the post passes and will get numerous steals or poke the ball to other players. She is also a very good ball handler for her size. She will be your starting post and an outstanding player for you.

I could see Coach Staley welcoming Fulwiley back. I can also see Coach Staley clapping her hands as to say "It is a wrap! We are moving on!" Bottom line, we all are wishing Fulwiley all the best at LSU.

Oh, it’s a wrap.

MiLaysia is an entertainer. She’s probably in a great place for that TBH.

Finally USC sending a team to this event.

Info on the event from USA Basketball including teams involved. schedule not posted yet. Tourney will be broadcast on USA Basketball’s YouTube page and on Twitter.

Do Gamecock fans think Geno was intentionally taking a shot

I don't know about Gamecock fans, but social media did when he made the comment originally. It took a life of it's own from there.

The question to me is, was his statement necessary? Everyone knows he's the standard. Nothing else needed to be said.
