USC Gamecocks - The Offseason 2025

I'm starting to see news reports that South Carolina and UConn won't be playing each other during the regular season this year. That's interesting if true. I wonder what happened.

There’s a thread on the UConn main board. It’s being reported in Connecticut and SC papers. The thread has numerous posts about Dawn chickening out /which is to be expected/ but they fail to mention that there was a foreshadowing of this by a Connecticut article a month ago that hinted at non renewal due to the Big East adding two extra conference games this coming spring. Of course, we added two extra SEC teams (Texas and Oklahoma) last year to our Spring calendar.

I will miss the annual game. I think the game of wbb will miss the million eyeball games each year/ though they could be made up for by UConn v Tennessee and USC v U$C.

But let’s remember that four of the last five final fours have had the two teams. Thus, there is a high probability, if not a likelihood, that we’ll meet again soon.

Alas, late January and early February is a bit less anticipated. :(

If I witnessed this twice in one season, I'd be opting out as well ;)

While it's nice to see Chloe's boyfriend wearing some Toronto Tempo gear here with our infamous super-fan, let's not get ahead of ourselves projecting draft selections. ;)

While watching the NBA draft I kept on thinking about Toronto drafting her in the first round. If they follow the same formula as last season, Toronto and Portland will have the #5 and #6 picks in the draft. Without knowing all the draft landscape, 5-6 in the draft feels about right for Kitts. I could see it being a plausible scenario.

I'm all for this if it's actually possible, but these types of posts don't help matters. :D

I just watched an early draft video after making this statement. Kitts wasn't mentioned as a first rounder in that video, so maybe she'll be taken by Toronto in the 2nd? IDK...Kitts is a hard prospect to predict.

I think she’s definitely a first rounder. She has good size and athleticism, a high motor and it’s clear she works her butt off to have improved as much as she has. Her face up game is solid and she’s good passer. Also 1-2 years younger than the other prospects since she came to SC early. I’d put her 7-10 range if I’m a GM.

Have to see what happens next year obviously, but at present I'm not sure her ceiling is higher than Kiki.

Same kind of tweener game and size issues, but not as athletic.

But maybe she ends up being a better offensive version if it's a monster year. She does have a little more post game, maybe. Particularly if she continues getting stronger.

Which Kiki? Iriafen? I don’t think she’s close to being as good of a prospect as Iriafen who is having a monster rookie year, but Kitts is a very solid prospect IMO. Idk if this is the best comparison but parts of her game remind me of a more offensive Angel Reese. Angel was a better prospect and player coming out of college but Kitts has some very strong (and under appreciated) attributes that will help her stick in the pros.

Herbert-Harrigan.

She doesn't remind of me of Reese in any way. Less athletic, not as relentless on boards, not as good a defender, and a better offensive player by far than Reese.

A Public Service Announcement, and this seemed like the right place to post this but today is the day most of us have been waiting for all year. So all you Little C fans head out to Bojangles and get you a 3 piece dinner and a Sweet Tea. Support your school and mascot on this special day

Likewise. Have fun meeting your mascot in person some day! More than likely your mascot will be eating you though...

I KID! I feel like I need to take a bath in some holy water after that comment...

I've been reading snippets from these interviews in news articles but unable to find a recording until I found this video. I thought I would share.

Interviews with Latson and Okot:

Thanks. Had not seen that. Wish we had one more year with Okot. Her first year of playing against US competition was impressive . Who knows? Maybe the NCAA will grant her a waiver for a year, but our history with them does not encourage me.
