Getting close to game time. This game should be much more competitive than yesterday's game.

You know Geno likes to have his players posting up.

Spain can't make their shots. Yet.

The score is 36-19, but don't be misled. Spain is the #3 team in the world and very, very good. They were the Silver Medalists in the 2014 World Cup. We won the final game largely on an early scoring spurt by Maya. Torres, Cruz, Romero, et al. can call play.

Can't watch the game but I see ESPN's play-by-play has Taurasi with a technical. Some things never change, lol.

They showed the replay. She was backpedaling and accidentally tripped another player. It looked like a bogus call.

54-37 at the half. Stewie missed a free throw at the end but made the second one.
Spain isn't going away, though.

Very enjoyable 1st half. Spain is good. They are tough. Would love to see them match up against Australia.

Would also like to see the US clean up a few things - especially on rebounding. It seems like they are a fraction of a second slow on corralling them and Spain is making them pay when they get an O-board that we botched. Still, everyone playing really well. It's such a treat to watch a team where there is literally no weak link. And where everyone plays within themselves with what they do best.

Eric is right. We've given up too many O boards when we had our hands on the ball.
