Like Cox, Stewart and Wilson played for the U19 team as rising high school seniors.

In 2011, a 16-year-old Stewart led USA in scoring (11.2 ppg) and rebounds/game (7.3).

In 2013, 16-year-old Wilson was 3rd in scoring (10.9 ppg, behind Stewart and Tuck) and first in rebounds/game (7.9).

I think it's fair to say that Cox's game is not quite as developed as Stewart's and Wilson's at a comparable age. I'm looking forward to watching her play.

It would also be fair to say that Cox has more competition for minutes on this squad than either Stewart or Wilson had at a comparable age. Let's not forget that Stewart hardly played at the Worlds last year with the National team, and when she did she was singularly unimpressive. Any performance on all-star teams needs to be viewed with a different set of factors in play.

I just looked at the 2013 roster to compare.... and you are absolutely right about Cox

I don't necessarily agree with your first point. Regardless, saying that Cox's game -- which I like a lot -- is not quite as developed or polished as Stewart's or Wilson's were at the same age is hardly a slight.

Comparing a rising high school senior playing for the U-19 team with a rising college junior playing for the Senior National team is apples and oranges, particularly when talking about post players.

Ahhhh.... I got confused by the 2013 roster  ... I was thinking that Tuck, Stewart, Jones, Jefferson were incoming college freshman.... not rising college sophomores

I can't pretend to know a great deal about Salvadores, I've watched her twice and noticed the box scores, but my gut tells me she's going to help Duke alot. As others have said it's hard to know with European players just how well that they will adjust to living and playing here, but I have a good feeling about her becoming a star. Of course the intuition of an aging fan is not going to help Triad get his team to the Final Four.
