Tuck with 16 points, Stewart with 16 in the 2nd quarter

Live Stats

By the way Bree is 2-2 from beyond the arc. This girl is unreal - she was already the #1 player in the class BEFORE she started developing a 3 point shot, which it seems she's done with a vengeance over the past 6 months or so.

Destroying Canada with a vengeance, the UConn ladies look uniformly terrif...there is a youtube vid of Stewie hitting a 50+ shot at the buzzer; completely nonchalant.

Looks like it will be Brazil vs USA in the Gold Medal Game tomorrow.

The pair of them are ridiculous of offense. I haven't seen the game so I'm not sure what they've done defensively, but I know both of them play great defense, especially Tuck.

And the third musketeer is playing great as well! A few beautiful assists, great defense and good composure leading the offense

Love these announcers - I wish I spoke Spanish, but they keep up with everything in terms of players names and who scores, who assists, who fouls, and the players coming into the game.

Morgan is the leading scorer--again!

For the tourney, she's shooting 58% on FGAs and 84% on FTAs. Very solid.

I knew Moriah was fast, but it is something else to see her live.

I'll tell ya - I watched the 2nd half - Prince is a nice player. Was more impressed with Brown, Graves (who had a pair of beautiful reverse layups) and Mabrey. And Stewart is simply from another planet. The things she can do at her size are ridiculous. And Tuck (I know we already knew this) is nothing close to a pure 4. She handles the ball really well, is a smooth shooter from everywhere, and I can see why Geno loves players who are versatile.

That was a pretty basket (by Prince), put back in the air.

Graves made 3 nice buckets late. Two on reverse layups.

I like our kids. A lot!

Yes she is a blur. Can't wait to see these kids live and up close.

Not trying to be a homer, but ... especially defensively the trio of Graves, Cooper, and Agee just seem to be a little slow in these games (or maybe everyone else is a little faster!) And I'm not sure Prince has seen a shot she doesn't like.
Overall - these players are so much better than any of the competition it may be a little misleading as to their possible impact next year. It is fun to watch, but I suspect any one of their high school teams could have won this competition.

Relative to the way our Olympic team played, 1-12, what I noticed was that these kids, while certainly very talented, did not play with the kind of intensity and maximum effort the National team played with. I am fairly certain that the difference is that Geno was coaching the Olympic team. Not that Katy M. Is not a terrific coach, but she is not Geno.

Maybe that has something to do with relative maturity levels. Plus, the National team was on a stage that's a bit more... higher profile. That can be a motivator when playing in a blowout.

That qualifying tournament in Puerto Rico isn't the Olympics either.

Almost like penny-ante.

I'm not sure why one would compare the two teams, one full of pros with years of experience playing with and against each other, the other full of frosh-to-bes. Didn't Geno lose a non-senior nat team game?

Yeah - the National team members average 10 years more experience and 10 years of generally better coaching. They are also much more used to playing on balanced teams as opposed to teams where they are the first or only option! I have been impressed with how well the team does play. There are a few 'all star' moments in each game (plays one sees in the HS all star games) but for the most part the offense and defense has been well orchestrated. And playing second halves with 40 point leads against clearly overmatched opponents can make focus a little tougher.
