sorry I had to step away...
It's not all negative out there folks...
there have been some great passing sequences out there, Maya and Dee started to light it up from 3
I have to keep telling you - shooters shoot...and eventually they will fall.

Lyndsey, Seimone, and Candice were very effective in the second quarter....rebounding by all team USA is much more aggressive.



Geno managed to get himself t'd up. USA pulled away by 10 until the very end of the game.

Now I have to catch up with 3rd period
 
Just saying, Breanna couldn't shoot any worse than the USA team out there.
 
Diana picked up a couple of fouls including a technical.
Score is close now 51 - 50 USA

Serbia has really stepped up the D

Sue with a bullet high pass to Griner who gets it and makes the 2
 
Sue and Brittney - Sue into the paint to Brittney back out to Sue from 3 - It's in!!!!!!!
 
Maya Moore...hmmm...Maya Running on a fast break turns the shoulder and gets called for the offensive foul....

then steals the ball and scores a 2 to bring it to a one point US lead
 
USA is pretty disconnected and at times a little chippy. Serbia isn't much responsible for either, IMO.

And no, I don't find the babbling announcers "refreshing." I concede that someone else might.

This will be a good game to have behind them, should USA win. And that's in doubt, at 56-55 @ 5:47 3rd.

Charles did shuffled her feet and gets called for the travel.

On the other end, Griner going for the rebound is assulted by two Serbians and is fouled.
They are really taking it to BG

I don't think it's in doubt. Serbia has really stepped up the aggression. Foul trouble will take a toll.
 
Serbia shooting 2 shots on a Griner foul, and makes them BUT

Griner finally is able to score in the paint - usually she is just mauled in the paint.

On the other end, she gets a block, and Maya scores as well.

Serbia fouling freely.
 
Lyndsey on the next sequence is fouled in the act of shooting, makes both, USA is again in the lead

Bad passing sequence results in a turnover for USA, Serbia loses the ball out of bounds

US on the other end gets a bunch of rebounds off a few misses, and misses them all

Dupree, Whalen, McCaughtry, Augustus and Nneka

Whalen, goes coast to coast, makes a 2 and is fouled....makes the shot.

Can guarantee that Nneka would have missed those chip shot bunnies. Wish she would get more minutes.

Angel - with some crazy dribbling throws up a nutzy shot and misses...and a mis-communication ensues after the rebound and US loses the ball out of bounds
 
Serbia employing full court pressure.......McCaughtry misses her shot, almost out of bounds saved by Whalen to Dupree....and Nneka makes a 2.

2nd string is more productive for USA it seems?

Didn't like what Angel just did. Nneka made a bad pass to Angel and went to her and Angel just walked away.

Serbia 20-21 at the free throw line. USA 10-13. How many chippies are USA going to miss. USA kept Dabovic under control in 3rd qtr limiting her to 2 points. Much closer game then it should be Game in doubt, but USA should win
