Pretty typical Ralph Lauren style. Not sure about the beret, though...

The below pic shows the outfits the US Olympians wore in Beijing.

I was shocked that there is no alternative to the skirt for the ladies. I just cannot imagine tomboyish athletes be forced to wear that skirt and heels.. If i was an olympian, I will have hard time wearing that outfit!

Funny: My wife and I were discussing that very point this morning.

IMHO: No matter how a woman is built - especially an athlete (i..e short Gymnast with muscular thighs) - she's going to look better in a skirt than pants. Just more flattering.
YMMV

Not loving this.

Can't decide if this look is more prep school or yachtsmen. Which makes it TOTALLY Ralph Lauren!

I don't think I want to see a 250 lb. female shot putter in a skirt. I think pants would have been better.

They do look like a Ralph Lauren ad. Ralph has outfitted the summer and/or winter Olympians before.

RL (born Ralph Lipschitz, which definitely does not have the same ring!) created his clothing line in 1967 and is now worth $6 billion personally. He is arguably the leading U.S. clothing designer.

If any of 'em have a problem with the skirt, Chris Dailey will take care of it. :)

You will notice that the heels appear in the drawing not in the photos.

This may be the first time I've agreed with Reid.

Boringly phugly. Appropriate for a Gatsby-ish 40's movie.
