UConn 2015 recruits.jpg

USA's 3x3 team in China, featuring 3 UConn future players, crushed their first three opponents by a combined score of 63-11. With Katie Lou Samuelson nursing a sprained ankle, Napheesa Collier, DeJanae Boykin & Arike Ogunbowale took just over 22 minutes of play to win 21-6, 21-3 & 21-2. :)

Collier is scoring whenever she wants, shooting 30-41 (73.2%). Take out her 1-6 from 3 pt range and she is 29-35 (82.8%) from the field. Boykin, 9-19 (47.5%) and Arike 11-24 (45.8%) are also contributing w/ great shooting. The only flaw in USA's play is their 2-12 results from 3's. (Which actually only count as 2 points, with regular field goals only worth 1 point.) Free throws are disappointing at 11-19 (57.8%). :(

Want some defense? Egypt, Romania and Indonesia shot only 7-55 (12.7%) from the field. Indonesia actually went 0-15 from the field and scored their 2 points on free throws. USA faces Thailand, Belgium, Andorra, Taiwan and Guam on Wednesday-Sunday. (Often there are two games in one day.) Andorra is a very small principality between France and Spain, created in 1278.

Report is that KLS is dressed, taped up and ready to play if needed. ;)
Go future Huskies..!!

What a delightful bunch. While I'm certainly enjoying and reveling in our present, I'm so excited for our future - the quintet from 2014 and the trio from 2015 - just an amazing bunch that is bound to compete for multiple NC's...

C’mon Dave. So, now that you've hit 500 posts, are you suddenly just going to start slacking off, leaving us hanging, with these kind of half-bake stats? You know darn well everybody’s still anxious to hear about our opponent's latest Census, Per Capita Income, and… would it have killed you to at least include Annual Rainfall?

Andorra is the sixth smallest nation in Europe, having an area of 181 sq mi and a population of 85,029 in 2013. Its capital, Andorra la Vella, is the highest capital city in Europe, at an elevation of 3,356 ft above sea level. The official language is Catalan, although Spanish, Portuguese, and French are also commonly spoken. Annual precipitation is between 21-26 inches per year, including some snow.

Tradition holds that Charles the Great (Charlemagne) granted the original charter to the Andorran people in return for fighting against the Moors.

Given its relative isolation, Andorra has existed outside the mainstream of European history, with few ties to countries other than France, Spain and Portugal. In recent times, however, its thriving tourist industry along with developments in transport and communications have removed the country from its isolation. The people of Andorra have the 3rd highest human life expectancy at birth in the world – 84 years. Most credit this longevity to the fact that they don't post on the Boneyard.

Andorra's mascot is the Fighting Mole Crickets.

Well, now, Kibs, the BY CAN interfere seriously with the digestive process; excessive bile, you know.

KLS's ankle may just be chronic and it will require a big rest and therapy not to keep showing up. Been there, done that. Trouble is you think it's better and it's not. Roll it often enough and we re talking surgery and a year to get back. Hope this is just a passing thing for Katie Lou.

KLS is scheduled to participate in the shooting contest tomorrow so her ankle must not be too bad.
