why do you guys resort to the most hyperbolic statements to try to make a point?
I hate the way the U.S. chucked up 40 threes a game during the tournament, and I hate the way the ten foot olympic three point line made it possible. It takes away from the purity of the game - I don't wan to see the best athletes in the world heaving up threes at every turn like they're a mid-major trying to beat a two-seed int he NCAA Tournament. I don't blame the U.S. for taking advantage of the shortened line, but it makes the game less interesting.
Also, it's almost unfathomable how bad the U.S. was defensively during these Olympics. Is it possible to strip Tyson Chandler of his 2011-12 DPOY award? It was almost mind-boggling to see some of these countries toss out rosters that couldn't beat your YMCA rec team only to watch them completely fluster the U.S. defense consisting of three to four All-defensive players.
